  1. Is this the "Texas Rangers/A-Rod" school of negotiation? TexasGM: "What's the biggest deal out there for A-Rod?" TexasAsstGM: "Ours at 10 years/$130 million" TexasGM: "Well shoot, we can beat that!"
  2. only if they are filled with pointy hard objects
  3. "Hey hey! Ho ho! KTRS has got to go!" I doubt there was a unified front of booers in the crowd rising up against a radio station switch

    June 28th?
  5. Yes, but one can argue that if that ultimate goal is to win the World Series, the difference between the pennant and last place isn't too big. I mean there is the "the team always sucks and never makes the postseason bad", and then there's the "Atlanta Braves always win the division but choke in the playoffs" bad. I don't know which woudl be more frustrating
  6. We've all been there, getting razzed by Cardinal fans for the 98 years of no World Series Title, blah, blah, blah. But 2007 will mark 25 years since the Cards have won the trophy. At what point can you turn this back on them? We'll always be at a disadvantage in terms of years, but the vaunted Cardinal team is verging on a quarter century here, which roughly equates to two full generations of baseball players. For many of fans, neither team has won in their lifetime. At that point, does it matter how long it's been? None of us here have been waiting since 1908....
  7. You just wish the Cubs would commit to these young guys and be patient for results. Look at the Tigers. They suffered through some horrible seasons with Martoh, Robertson and Bonderman, but now they are reaping the rewards.
  8. members here have enough trouble spelling Derrek! So did Jeff S. ( ) negotiate his own deal with the Cubs? If he can't have an agent, was it Jeff and Hendry sitting down and discussing numbers? How does this work? And yes, the NCAA rule book is more convoluted than the airline fare formulas
  9. Let me get this straight. Fans at the game were booing about a change in radio stations? Huh?
  10. Have the Cubs forfeited yet? (by which I mean, are Dusty's lineups in yet?)
  11. Did you see him single handedly win the game for the Nats last night? Got on against Rivera, stole second, stole third, scored winning run. Oh, and he's almost tied with Pujols for HR lead.
  12. I hear Andy Pratt and Micah Bowie are available as well
  13. whatever makes you feel better
  14. It's exciting that Prior is back, but I'll have to miss this one. Open workout/meet and greet for the minor league club today. Plus dad's and kids can play catch on the field afterwards. Too nice a day to waste watching these losers on TV
  15. i've been calling him Fat Bastard
  16. i remember that all they gave up was polanco and bud smith ](*,)
  17. I'm sorry Cards fans on here - it's pixie dust. The Cubs are bad, but their lineup is really not THAT much worse than what STL is currently running out there. it's all about how they approach the game
  18. Glad to see I haven't missed anything. By which I mean, oh, never mind
  19. Rusch - "Take the Money and Run"
  20. Len and Bob told me Verlander throws hard. About 1000 times!
  21. Nope, don't feel any better
