  1. New Orleans or Oklahoma City. Pick one please.
  2. can't be. Voters are required to vote the winner of tonight's game as #1
  3. How did the Chiefs not deserve it? They were 9-7 while Tennessee, Denver, Cincy, Pittsburgh, etc. were 8-8. It's not like they got voted into the playoffs...
  4. i don't think the spot was questionable at all. no way he made it to the one yard line. what a fitting end for ESPN's golden boy Romo. I hope Manning throws a game losing pick-6 tomorrow to complete the anti-ESPN weekend
  5. EVERY BALL FROM 1998 SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE HALL OF FAME! ps, I heard the balls from 1987 were betting on baseball
  6. I'll be lucky to see one of these games (stupid only working weekends)
  7. DePaul dropped their Big East opener 64-53 to St. John's. The Big East is brutal Penn State travels to Purdue today for their first Big 10 road game.
  8. That's funny Vance because that's how I view the SEC and Big 10. Plus, Thanks to Delaney (Big 10 Commish) we will NEVER have a playoff because he's too happy with the Rose Bowl the way it's set up now. You think the lack of a playoff makes me happy? No, it doesn't. And how do you go and call 23 teams out of 119 spoiled rich kids? Absurd. That and they seem to lick up half the national titles. I mean, at least they have something back up. congrats on 1000 posts The era of independent college teams is past us. 20 years ago Penn State, Miami, ND, Temple, Navy, Army, Cincy, etc. were all independents. Only a couple left these days. Get with the program ND!
  9. Don't people unload at the curb anymore? I know they stopped it for awhile after 9/11, but I don't remember the last time I didn't unload at the curb
  10. Yep, Austin Scott was in the same class as Hunt but they redshirted him this season so he could start next year. Rodney Kinlaw will back him up, but what I saw of him this year I didn't like (runs a lot side to side, doesn't burst through the holes). Morelli looked much more composed and under control in the Outback Bowl. Hopefully he can use that and come into next year more polished.
  11. They have a terrible quarterback? Penn State? He hasn't been great, but neither was Kerry Collins until his senior year. And, as I said, there is a very good underclassman waiting to take over should Morelli fail
  12. Actually if the Buckeyes lose, then we'll have had the immensely enjoyable trifecta of Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State losses in BCS bowl games. seconded. If only Miami and F$U had lost as well... As opposed to USC winning, which is good? I'm neither here nor there when it comes to USC. PSU rarely plays them, so I really don't care about them.
  13. They need to not play Temple. at least Temple won a game last year, unlike FIU
  14. or whoever that rookie in Minnesota was
  15. Wow, bracketology has what exactly to base their first seeds on? Whatever, someone save that page just so we can see how unbelievably wrong they are.
  16. But they do play all 3 of the big 3. Being....OSU, Michigan and Wisconsin? Yes. That's not really up to them. The Big 10 sets the rotation of who does/doesn't play. It does, however, set up for a non-controversial title situation in the conference (assuming someone like Iowa doesn't suddenly decide to be good) I'm not saying they chose to play them, I'm saying at least they play those 3, so the OOC weakness isn't as big an issue. If PSU played that OOC schedule, then failed to play 1 or 2 of those big three, there's a chance they could be an undefeated conference champ without having done much on the field. They play Iowa as well. Northwestern and Minnesota are the two they skip. Right, so they have one of the best possible Conf. schedules assuming Illinois gets a little better. Indiana sucks, but what can you do? The team has taken heat from the local paper for the OOC though. Truly lame.

  19. Your acronyms confuse me. I just saw PSU starts a series with Alabama in 2010, that should be pretty cool. yep, they are going old school with some of their OOC games. ND ritht now, Syracuse and Alabama in the near future their OOC in 2007 is atrocious. A weakened ND team along with the #115, #117 and #119 teams in the country. Morelli looked pretty solid in the Outback Bowl, plus he'll have spring competition from Pat Devlin, who was a pretty highly rated recruit. JoePa's MO is usually to go with the senior though, so Devlin would have to be the next coming of Joe Montana to win the job.
  20. Actually if the Buckeyes lose, then we'll have had the immensely enjoyable trifecta of Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State losses in BCS bowl games. seconded. If only Miami and F$U had lost as well...
  21. I can't imagine Penn State losing to ND next year. It's a home game, ND is graduating key players, while PSU returns something like 17 starters, including the QB, 4 of 5 OL, all the receivers, all the DB's....PSU is likely only a 1 or 2 loss team next year.
  22. I'm editing my post from above about making it 3 teams from any conference can go to the BCS. They should make a provision that if the third place team in a BCS conference is in the, say, top 8 of the final BCS standings then they are eligible, but not guaranteed, to be selected to play in a BCS bowl. That way, you know if a conference gets three teams in the BCS, they likely deserve it. I also wouldn't mind if they had a minimum wins requirement for a BCS, regardless of conference title. If some team (cough*FSU2005*cough) is only 8-4 or whatever they shouldn't get to go to the Orange Bowl.
  23. And I also can't wait until the self appointed Guardians Of Playing The Game The Right Way at ESPN go bananas over the Grossman press conference statements. The TMQ writer obviously doesn't understand the legions of idiot Bear fans who think that beating the Packers is more important than anything else.
  24. The #11 team really shouldn't have been there. They need to change the rule that prohibits a conference from only getting in two teams and we could have had a better match-up. If they do that then the rich just get richer. You'd see just SEC, Big 10 and Big 12 teams fill all the slots. Maybe - or maybe there'd be a deserving school from the Big East or one of the other conferences in there. Rutgers screwed themselves by losing to Cincy, and WVU screwed themselves by losing to USF. They had nobody to blame but themselves for not getting in the BCS this year. Do you really think they would have taken them over ND, Michigan or Wisconsin if they (BE team) only had one loss? I don't. Opps, I forgot LSU which somehow managed to lose 2 games too but I suppose that's ok. Show me where a two-loss Big East school played four games like @Auburn, @Tennessee, @Arkansas and @Florida, and I'll agree that they belong in the BCS. Really, if your defending of the Big East has blinded you to the fact that LSU is indeed one of the five best teams in the nation, and is in the very least better than Rutgers and West Virginia, then we're really not going to get anywhere in this debate. Who did Wisconsin beat that made them a better team than Louisville? Who did Notre Dame beat to make them a better team than West Virginia? They both beat Penn State, who will probably be a top 25 team in the final polls.
