  1. where does one go to sign up for writing blogs? My nsbb username/password failed
  2. I have a feeling this is moving to Fantasy section here shortly...
  3. yeah, I heard he was black....
  4. Just curious cuz I know nothing of Gould, but if he sucked how did he get to the NFL? Basically, because the Bears needed something after Doug Brien didn't work out at all last year. Gould was essentially hammering nails last year. yep. He was undrafted, cut by two teams and working construction before the Bears signed him.
  5. I hear Bellicheck has hired the dude from FSU to come plant his flaming spear at the 50-yard line of the RCA Dome
  6. I'm rooting for the Bears all the way. Should the Saints win, I'd probably root for them over New England. If it's N.O. vs. Indy, well then I just hope for a good game. I like Peyton Manning and would like to see him get the Superbowl monkey off his back
  7. Finding money is great. I once found a wad of bills in the parking lot of a Toys R' Us that totalled $350. Merry Xmas to me...
  8. whereas I'll miss the first half because of work. DVR to the rescue! And I'm glad people got my point about the Katrina thing. I think the Saints ARE a good story, but not because of the hurricane. They're a good story because they got good players, a good coach, and are finally playing well after 30 years. THAT is the story in N.O.
  9. I want the Bears to win, if for no other reason than to shut up the sports media "Saints are playing for the Katrina victims" BS. Listen, it's great that all the CEO's and doctors and lawyers who can afford NFL tickets in N.O. have a good team to go and see, but all the money that was put back into the Superdome would have been better served to, oh, I don't know, rebuild the thousands of homes that are still destroyed. You know, those people who had to evacuate and nearly 18 months later still can't come back? Yeah, football is great, it's a great story with the Saints, but stop linking it to Katrina. It's really embarassing
  10. I've been as big a critic of this team as anyone but I was excited for the win. Glad to see them finally step up when it counts.
  11. if only Orton had started!
  12. OLB Dan Connor returns to PSU for senior year. /sigh of relief
  13. Only things I've ever seen at Soldier Field were the Pink Floyd and Grateful Dead shows I saw a PF show there (the sky was purple after a storm blue through - I swear), and I saw the last Dead show, which was terrible. I was at both of those shows, and you are right on both accounts. Pink Floyd was the best show ever, and I was ready to shoot myself in the face about 3 songs into the Dead show

  15. PSU does better with non-skill positions. O-Line, full back, special teams, etc. Every week in our local paper they show a listing of ex-PSU players and what they did that week in the NFL. Sadly, there are only about a dozen right now, with Johnson, Gould and Drummond doing the best week to week I'm stilll bitter about the Michael Haynes pick. How about Curtis Enis and Bobby Engram? I never had a problem with Engram. He was what he was. and still is; an undersized, posession receiver best used on 3rd and short. OJ McDuffie had a better career for Miami. Joe Jurevicius has been decent in the NFL as well. Kerry Collins, however, has sucked worse and worse each year (though he played in a Super Bowl...)

  18. Well, this isn't baseball. A baseball player who has a physical ailment will probably have worse numbers. It's not the same in football. You can rack up a lot of tackles as a MLB even if you lose a step. Besides, tackle totals are practically meaningless, as they aren't an official stat. well i'm not trying to argue that Posluzny is the best LB in history or anything. Just saying that reports of his injury slowing him down have been greatly exaggerated.
  19. I'm just saying that he was constantly dogged for having "lost a step" even though his numbers are nearly identical to 2005 when he was considered at the top of his game. Either way, he'll be a pretty good player in the NFL. If/when he's at 100%, he has the potential of being Urlacher-like....he's one of those guys who always seems to be where the ball is.
  20. Was that the all time single season tackle record, or career? If it's career, it doesn't say a thing about being fully recovered. And leading the team in tackles doesn't either. Your linebackers will always lead the team in tackles. If you play most of the season at LB, you stand a great chance of leading the team in tackles. Neither of those stats proves a guy is fully recovered. career. But his season totals were: 116 tackles 69 solo 10 TFL 3 sacks That's as MLB Last year (when "healthy") he was an OLB and posted 118 tackles 64 solo 14 TFL 4 sacks In 2005, he was the first junior team captain for PSU since 1968 2005 All-American, Butkus and Bednarik Award Winner 2006 All-American and Bednarkik Award Winner (2nd ever to win twice) So yeah, that's him.
  21. Paul Posluzny not being on Mel's top 25 tells me everything I already knew about Mel is true....he's a douche I thought that word was that Paul looked like he hadnt fully recovered from his injury. Willis fell off the board too, and i think you'd agree that he's a better linebacker than Poz. If leading the team in tackles and breaking the all time tackle record at PSU is not fully recovered, god help us when he is
  22. Indiana visits Penn State tomorrow at noon. I don't see good results happening here...
  23. 18 point lead or not, I would say that any night when Deng scores just 4 points will result in a Bulls loss 9 out of 10 times
  24. Exactly. How can you have a guy like Khryapa who hasn't played in several games get close to 20 minutes tonight? How can guys like Tyrus, Thabo, and Sweetney not even play? His substitutions are maddening and most of the time, they make no sense. The whole deal of benching Gordon and starting Duhon is absurd. Duhon is a good defender, but he doesn't do anything on offense. And when he starts, it moves Hinrich to the 2 where he is not comfortable at all. If Gordon starts, not only would it help us on offense, but it brings Kirk back to his natural position. I think it's reached the point of just being defiant. "Oh yeah, you think Gordon should start? Well guess what. You're not the coach, I am!"
  25. He had to get permission from his gf to go to a Bears playoff game? Weak. He loses his man license
