  1. If it was up to me I would get rid of everybody on the team expect for Noah and Tyrus and even them I would trade for something if needed. Gooden has been really good since coming over
  2. Terrelle Pryor to hold noon press conference tomorrow, presumably to announce what school he will be attending
  3. you would have been safer had you used the medical term: Poop Chute
  4. Wuertz would be a decent trading chip, as long as he's not just given away. The Cubs have used up most of his cheapest years. And quite possibly they've used up his best years. He's coming off 3.5 fairly consistent solid years, a pretty nice achievement for most any reliever, aside from the elite. That's not to suggest I want him dealt, or that I think Hendry would be able to get a lot for him. But the Cubs have somewhat of a surplus of solid bullpen arms, and teams do often overvalue relievers. It could be a smart move to try and improve one of the team's weak points by including Wuertz in some trade this year. But do you trade Wuertz with Howry and Eyre free agents? Isn't Wood on a 1-year deal too? I do like Ascaino, Hart, and Petrick to go along with Marmol, but Wuertz has clearly had more success than any, including Marmol. I think I might rather trade a prospect, who might have more value than Wuertz anyway, at least to other teams looking to get cheap production. why assume they will all flee to other teams?
  5. i'm sorta tired of Lundquist and Raftery, if only because they do the play-by-play on College Hoops 2k6. /"the kiss..."
  6. Somebody has to recognize the beauty of a "So I Married an Axe Murderer" quote. That person is me. bravo, I was wondering how long that would hang the kid who played "Head" was an undergrad in my program at Northwestern while I was in grad school. true story
  7. i mean, maybe they got screwed, but they'd lose in the first or second round anyway. that's why i really don't feel too bad for bubble teams that don't get in. which is why two bubble teams should have to play the tuesday play-in game to get in as the 12 seed or something Yeah, they just said that on Mike and Mike. What do you guys think about Bobby Knights idea of having 128 teams? It is just one more game. It won't work out with TV. CBS will not push the Masters back as that event is a cash cow for them. The Masters is on a Tuesday? he was referring to adding another layer of games (128 teams)
  8. if Theriot is leading off I will do something irrational
  9. is this it?
  10. bale... c'mon man, try to keep up. it was a joke. the photo IS of American Psycho afterall
  11. the Royals have a player named Patrick Bateman?
  12. the NCAA owns the NIT now, so no, they wouldn't So what they could do is have X amount of the losing teams play in the NIT. I think this could actually work. sure, have 4 play-in games among 8 bubble teams. The winners get, say, the four #12 seeds in the NCAA and the losers are the #1 seeds in the NIT. way too "radical" an idea for the old men in charge to consider, of course
  13. "Matsui won't be in the lineup for the next few days. He has an anus."
  14. damn, stupid Rays are starting Longoria in AAA. guess that guy is warming my bench for awhile :x
  15. i'd do away with the play-in game at this point too.
  16. the NCAA owns the NIT now, so no, they wouldn't
  17. 180. Kelvim Escobar 181. Chad Cordero 182. Luke Scott 183. Ian Snell
  18. i mean, maybe they got screwed, but they'd lose in the first or second round anyway. that's why i really don't feel too bad for bubble teams that don't get in. That brings up a good point, has a 11, 12 or 13 seed at large team ever made the Final Four? Off the top of my head, both LSU (1986) and George Mason (2006) made the Final Four as 11-seeds. but George Mason wasn't an at large, right?
  19. i mean, maybe they got screwed, but they'd lose in the first or second round anyway. that's why i really don't feel too bad for bubble teams that don't get in. which is why two bubble teams should have to play the tuesday play-in game to get in as the 12 seed or something Yeah, they just said that on Mike and Mike. What do you guys think about Bobby Knights idea of having 128 teams? It is just one more game. no way to 128 teams. I don't need to see the 4th place team from the Sun belt get in. Ha ha ha, who am I kidding? The Sun Belt would still only get one team in while the entire Big East and ACC would get in twice

  21. well, they faced a much better team
  22. I'd venture to guess that most White Sox fans think Crede is better when he's healthy. I'd venture that those people are all idiots. Crede has no business being compared to Ramirez, ever. What's even funnier is that Crede gets props for GRIT, but Ramirez plays hurt most of every season and gets ragged on for being soft. If only he could grow a mullet... hispanic guys don't have grit
  23. but will be blocked by Corey Patterson
  24. the 700 wlw morons are in love with dusty. when i was listening to them yesterday, they were praising how dusty has the balls to give scott hatteberg the leg-up in the 1st baseman competition because votto is having a crappy spring, and how they agreed that votto needed to prove himself at aaa louisville. it's all pretty hilarious. I've heard those guys plenty. Dusty is this perfect manager for them. With their anti-Dunn bias and Baker egging him on to stop walking, it could make for interesting listening. yeah, those were the guys I heard. I was searching AM radio for the March Madness brackets but had them talking about Dusty instead
  25. 170. Johnny Damon 171. Felix Pie 172. Jack Cust 173. Jeff Francoeur 174. Alex Gordon 175. Rafael Furcal 176. Jonathan Broxton 177. Jered Weaver 178. Carlos Marmol
