  1. in other news, what's this crap about Urlacher sitting out of mandatory mini-camp because of a "contract dispute". hey jerk, you're under contract. there is no dispute
  2. Priorpower, on a side not, I've got pit tickets for Radiohead tonight \:D/ alas, i just have lawn seats in August
  3. because there is seemingly nothing left for Pie to prove or accomplish in Iowa. he dominated there for two years and still struggled when given (sporadic) time with the Cubs. he needs to be given time to adjust to MLB pitching. going back down and demolishing the PCL pitchers won't accomplish anything except unnecessarily delaying his development even further. they are winning and scoring runs with almost no production in CF against RHP. there is literally no better time for them to stick with Felix and let him take his lumps and adjust. they can afford it right now. who knows if they can in September or in 2009? it is absolutely the perfect time for him to be out there. if they aren't willing to do that now, then i have to wonder if they ever will be. Everyone keeps putting up that arguement that he has nothing left to prove or accomplish. Its not about proving or accomplishing anymore. Its about getting reps, regular playing time, and confidence. he needs reps, regular playing time and confidence in the majors.
  4. yet another Dallas Green thread that is completely untrue.
  5. the deal is being written entirely from the Yankees POV. it's best just to ignore it
  6. too bad Lou has successfully bullied the local media into not asking him any tough questions about anything. with all due respect to Bruce and his fellow reporters, it seems like Lou has created an environment of "question me about anything and i'm out the door" in the press room after games.

  8. i have no problem with my boy from Penn State getting paid. i'm a little biased though. it may not be a fiscally sound move by the Bears, but my cockles are warmed by the little towheaded Nittany Lion going undrafted, bouncing around camps, and then winning the starting job and getting paid
  9. Lou, lou, lou, lou, lou ](*,)
  10. Edmonds is signed, sucks, still plays full time in the 5th spot in the order, Pie gets hurt in AAA, Hendry gives Edmonds a 4 year extension.
  11. The top 5 HR hitters in the majors are all in the National League: Utley Berkman Uggla Lee C. Jones
  12. can we pull Curtis Goodwin out of retirement?
  13. that was a terrible call, but only slightly less terrible than Fontenot taking that pitch right down the middle
  14. as someone with no job, i prefer all day baseball. get the game out of the way while wifey is at work, then spend QT with the family in the evening
  15. agreed. 2nd best home record in the NL, 3rd best in the majors. Plus Z is just nails
  16. Lefty starter. No Pie, for once, makes sense. jim edmonds will face a lot of lefty starters, book it
  17. last time I was in the batting cage I was whiffing on 60mph pitches, so.....
  18. he has to be somewhat popular, otherwise why would the owners sit back and watch him completely destroy two baseball franchises?
  19. there is about as much proof that Edmonds is gay as there is that Ryan Seacrest is gay, by which I mean, none
  20. ah, more mod-tolerated gay jokes about Edmonds. gotta love it
  21. that happened to me last year with helton and blalock
