  1. any particular reason i just plucked Joey Votto out of the free agent pool? is he dead or something?
  2. I drafted him in all 4 of my leagues. i have him in my league as well
  3. Zambrano needs to man up and get over it
  4. that might be the only thing about edmonds that i ever heard that sounded anywhere near positive(and believable)...that entire breed ought to be wiped from the face of the planet hey now /Yorkie owner
  5. and because our own hot-headed starting pitcher got his panties in a bunch over Edmonds admiring a homerun (something no one on the Cubs ever does ever ever)
  6. this all but guarantees that Fielder won't be on the team past arbitration (if then)
  7. if only there were a top left-handed hitting prospect in the system who could pinch-hit and play the outfield....
  8. Hendry owes Soriano an apology. He just sent his BFF down to AAA, so now Soriano will hit another super-slump as he mopes about without his lil' buddy
  9. i have this bad feeling that Fukudome will still be hitting 5th. I would be completely unsurprised to see: Soriano Theriot Lee Ramirez Fukudome Edmonds Soto DeRosa Dempster
  10. EYELINERMASCARAHALFSHIRTGAYLOLZ!1!!1111111!!!1!ONE!11!

  12. Wood is giving us the ol' Rod Beck Special tonight
  13. vasgersian and hudler are two bitter dudes. i guess it sucks having to broadcast that suckfest of a team
  14. 736/736-1 my money would be on it being the Padres feed though (re: WCIU)
  15. he will be more liked than Todd Hundley
  16. you know who else really played well at Wrigley? Jeff Blauser
  17. it's not Tuesday? it's not 1987? my name's not Louis Farrakhan?
  18. nothing quite makes my Tuesday afternoon like NSBB hand-wringing
  19. booing him would require going to a Cubs game, which probably isn't happening any time soon for me
  20. Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but this has been an ongoing issue all year, and he's been expected to sit-out of things. Once Briggs was done this went on the front-burner, and Angelo has hinted that he's not about to bend in the least. I'm somewhat neutral. Urlacher is under contract, but he's also a special case. Guys are asked to renegotiate for the team all the time, they can be cut at any time. And it's somewhat standard practice to give raises to players who are outperforming their contract. I believe Urlacher has been outperforming what has turned out to be a very team friendly contract. If he plays this year without a new deal, he will have a very good argument to make a stink next offseason. I think they can give in to him a little this year, but actually wind up saving a little in the longterm. i understand that the NFL's salary system sucks, but pro athletes need to suck it up and honor their contracts. if he thought he was worth more, he should have asked for more money (or fewer years)
