  1. It probably means that Mike is making another return They can use Collins until Rose is just about ready to take the team to the next level, then bring in Phil Jackson for 6 championships in 8 years. Rose better not be thinking minor league baseball. as long as he doesn't develop a gambling problem there won't be a reason for a sham retirement/minor league stint
  2. +1 WGN has to be the worst looking SD feed on DirecTV
  3. one of my favorite moments in baseball history came when the commissioner's office accepted the resignations of all those clowns who thought they could bully the league
  4. I loved how Sutcliffe and Berman just praised and praised Pierre for holding the record for most AB's in a season (699). I'll have to live with WGN looking like crap over ESPNHD if those two assclowns are calling the game again
  5. while 7IP/1ER is great, it's not a good forecast of future starts. He was pitching with the help of gail-force winds blowing in, and he was facing the Dodgers' AA team. That said, your job is to dominate in those situations and he did. He should do well against the injured Rockies as well.
  6. at least Edmonds isn't hitting 1st or 2nd in the order like Pierre/Perez/Macias/Patterson were.
  7. the ability to jump 48 feet straight up would provide for some interesting adventures
  8. watching Illinois and Tennessee fans fight about who is less lame is akin to Missouri and Kansas football fan fights last year
  9. they are asking the same at the Dodgers message board
  10. does everyone else's ESPNHD feed look grainy and compressed?
  11. i love that ESPN STILL hasn't fixed their Wrigley Field graphic that says it's 302' to RF
  12. I want him to dive head first into the brick wall, not killing him, but injuring him just enough to be out for the season. I don't really want the guy hurt, but it seems like it's the only way to get him out of the lineup at this point.
  13. i always thought you were supposed to bat your top OPS guy 7th. no?
  14. You & several others are here must be watching a different game than the rest because Soriano clearly has blown as many games as he's won. Why does he get mentioned so often? Because he's a very easy target. He has no legs, can't play in the OF, is about the least clutch performer as it gets in baseball. Has no patience at the plate even though his spot in the lineup calls for it. Brenly is fully aware of it. Why aren't you? Lou continues to cater to this baby. It's like keeping him happy is more important than winning games. It's almost as bad as it was during the Sammy era the last 2-3 yrs. This team goes nowhere in the postseason if it thinks Soriano first, team second. what does that have to do with an article about Felix Pie?
  15. they should send Pie down to AA to work on fixing his swing so he can hit at AAA to fix his swing so he can hit in the majors
  16. On the dark side it means that Patterson is still around to take AB's from Bruce. On the bright side for Reds fans, it means Votto will be left unhindered to play 1b. wrong. Dunn at 1B, Patterson/Bruce/Freel across the OF
  17. let's see: Mariah Carey Jessica Alba plus 98 other women who are 100x hotter than anything i'd ever have a chance with
  18. ok, but tons of other examples of size =/= position (Magic Johnson, Dennis Rodman, Ben Wallace, etc.)
  19. probably when he no longer leads all Cubs OF's in HR and RBI
  20. What? He won't be an NBA power forward if he is 6'7" or 6'8". What? At 6'7" or 6'8", he won't be tall enough with his body type to be successful playing a true power forward spot in the NBA. Therefore, his value is diminished because he won't be an inside scoring force like he is being made out to be. If that's not clear enough, I don't know what to tell you. Jordan was 6'6"....was he a SF? nope Pippen was 6'9"....was he a PF? nope there is no hard and fast rule about size per position
  21. watching a Tennessee fan push Illini fans buttons is somewhat amusing. then again, i'm bored
  22. must be nice to give up a 3-run, walk off homer and have none of the runs be earned
  23. Brian Roberts, amirite?
  24. Derrek Rose will be the pick no matter what. The sooner you realize this, the less disapointment you'll feel when the Bulls take the better player in Rose. i've been pro-Rose the whole time. not sure where you thought i was pro-Beasley
