    USC 23 PSU 2 But seriously Offense: PSU - 40.2 ppg USC - 37.5 ppg PSU - 452.2 ypg USC - 453.1 ypg PSU - 211.6 rypg USC - 206.0 rypg PSU - 240.6 pypg USC - 247.1 pypg Defense: PSU - 12.4 ppg USC - 7.8 ppg PSU - 263 ypg USC - 206 ypg PSU - 95.9 rypg USC - 83.3 rypg PSU - 168 pypg USC - 123 pypg in summary, their offense's are nearly statistically identical, while USC has an edge in all of the defensive categories (though both teams are top 10 in the country). conclusion, game should be closer than people think.

    Actually, OPS+ is a stat that takes a player's OPS, normalizes it for stadiums, and then compares it against every other player's normalized OPS for that season. An OPS+ of 100 means that player is exactly league average for a given year.

    quick look at the stat line looks like Rose had one of his worst games of the season and Deng is still garbage

    you either over estimate USC's offense or under estimate PSU's defense. I think USC wins, but the game will be low scoring I could see USC winning something like 28-7. I would expect it to be a bit closer, but a scoreline like that wouldn't surprise me. What would surprise be is a 49-28 game. USC had the #1 scoring defense in the country, but it's not like the Pac 10 offenses were lighting people up. I don't understand why people think PSU will lose by 3 TD's. PSU has a great offense and a great defense, USC is the same. I don't think the game being in Pasadena gives them an extra 10 point edge.

    They led the league in runs, were extremely OBP heavy, and the production was spread evenly throughout the lineup. How was it flawed? They just choked, plain and simple. Stop looking for excuses to why they didn't score runs in the playoffs. no leadoff hitter DUH

    Watching what? MLB Network isn't on yet... unless it's doing some sort of preview channel... is it? If so I need to know, asap I have the channel already... it's just kind of a preview. They're just cycling between a special on the 2004 Red Sox playoff run, the 2005 White Sox playoff run, and then some highlight show called "Baseball's Epic Moments" or something like that. Is it on DirecTV? I checked 213, there's no channel for that yet on mine. Or is it on a different channel somewhere else in the directory? it will be on 213 as of 1/1/09. the people who already have it are on cable

    I hate the Red Sox just as much as the Yankees. Oh crap, I just realized that the backlash to all these signings will be 800,000 more annoying Red Sox bandwagoners declaring them "giant-killers" and rooting for them over the Yankees crap. The thing is that the Red Sox put up, what 170 million for Texeira too. The Red Sox have their own evil empire too. this is true, but the yankees now have the 4 highest paid players in baseball. some other teams were starting to challenge them, but now they're taking off into their own stratosphere again. their payroll is currently lower than last year.

    i think the games won that should have been loss is about even with the games lost that should have been won. this is one weird team. they only won because they suddenly started running the ball in the 4th. this is one of the worst passing teams (in terms of personnel AND scheme) i've ever seen
