Holy [expletive].... if the Marlins added Reyes, Pujols, Bell, and Wilson in one offseason. They'd be looking at a very good team for a couple years and some terrible contracts in a couple years.

The NFC playoff picture isn't as muddied as I would normally expect after Week 9. Sure, crazy things could happen, but it looks like... NFC West-SF NFC East-NYG vs. DAL (but basically NYG) NFC North-GB NFC South-ATL vs. NO Wildcard-2 of CHI vs. DET vs. loser of NFC South Byes-GB and SF Is it just me or does that look a lot clearer than it should with so many games left?

The most fun in all of this (aside from seeing the Cubs front office materialize) has been watching the dust-up among Red Sox fans. Some hilarious reading there. Funny, I always thought that our two fan bases were kind of kindred spirits. the cubs' system is just flush with guys with high ceilings who have achieved things at aa, so that should be no problem That would fit between 15 and 30 in the Sox system

Pena, Soriano and Fukudome also had above-average OPS, and Soto and Byrd were just a tick below. The offense doesn't really have any bad players on it, position adjusted. Holy ish, I didn't realize offense was so far down at 2B league wide .258/.319/.380/699 (at least NL)
