  1. Think how surreal it will be if the Cubs advance...
  2. They'll put it on TNT if this game is still going on. Good, I hadn't seen anywhere that tehy would, but that is good to hear.
  3. Could this game go any slower? Chances of us seeing first pitch of the the Cubs game are slim. Unless they put it on TNT or something.
  4. Every pitcher has their tricks. Played in College with a guy who would shower shortly before every gamer and apply all kinds of hair gel to the back of his head. On the mound he would simply take off his hat and rub his hand on the back of his head. Once he got going, the combination of sweat and gel combined to make a very stiicky substance.
  5. Just wondering if 3-day would be Tuesday (Friday-Mon-Tues) or Wednesday (Mon-Tue-Wed). Does FedEx deliver on Saturdays?
  6. Those of you that have had tickets shipped before. How soon will you receive them? Any chance they arrive before Wednesday? If the Cubs somehow make it, its possible they could be hosting a game on Thursday.
  7. Its just a game of chance I believe. I got through with only 5 windows in about 3minutes, using IE.
  8. I was just happy to get my 4 for game 1.
  9. Just got through with only 5 windows open. Bought 4 seats for Game 1, Row 3 Sec 434.
  10. Who cares... It shouldn't matter.
  11. This is all making my head hurt. If the Mets/Phils paly tomorrow, the loser then plays SD on Tuesday, correct? If SD wins, that would ensure the Cubs/AZ play. Would the Cubs/AZ still go ahead and play Wednesday, or would it be pushed back until the entire field is set?
  12. Best quote... "It really does sting when it gets in your eyes" -- Gail Fisher
  13. If the Rockies, Mets, and Phillies all win and San Diego loses we will have a tie for the division in the East and a 4 way tie for the wild card. So I would guess the Mets and Phillies would play for the divison with the Padres and Rocikes playing for a chance to play for the wild card with the winner playing the loser of the Mets-Phillies to win the wild card. Not exactly. First, the Mets-Phillies play on Monday for the NL East. Then, the loser of that would go into a 3 way playoff with the Padres and Rockies. The Rockies would get to choose if they want 1 road game or 2 home games. They probably decide to have 1 road game, so the Mets-Phillies loser would play the Padres on Tuesday. Then, the Rockies play the winner of that game on Wednesday. The playoffs would then begin on Thursday, with the Cubs either traveling to Arizona if one of the West teams win the wildcard or the NL East winner if the other East team wins the WC. Here's the simpler version of that: Monday: Mets/Phillies Tuesday: Monday loser vs Padres Wednesday: Tuesday winner vs Rockies Thursday: playoffs begin I hope it doesn't get that far. So MLB would have to push-back the start of the NLDS from Wednesday to Thursday? That would totally screw me because I am counting on the Cubs hosting Game 3 on Saturday night.
  14. These shots of the fans in the crowd look similar to the shots of the crowd at Wrigley during game 6 and 7 of 2003.
  15. We need to win 1 game, and the Brewers lose 1. And that's all. If the Pads were to take 2/3, which THEY will need or they're in trouble, then we could get swept and still win it. If they lose tonight....then, if we win ONE game, or they lose ONE game, then we are guaranteed at least a tie, correct? No... that would win it. *Edit* Read your post too fast, you are correct.
  16. We need to win 1 game, and the Brewers lose 1. And that's all. If the Pads were to take 2/3, which THEY will need or they're in trouble, then we could get swept and still win it. I think they can win 1 game for sure. I just expect them to be tight games.
  17. The pitching matchups still worry me this weekend. I'll be there for all 3, for better or worse. Zambrano needs to get out of his funk against Cincinnati. Arroyo has dominated the Cubs in the past, they got to him a little bit last week, but not too much. Derosa, Floyd, and Ramirez are the only players with decent numbers against him.
  18. Possibly. Or it could be AZ. Or Philadelphia. Or New York. The scenarios are all over the place right now. In theory, the Rockies could finish the season with the best record in the NL. Yeah, forgot about them too. Whateverm any one of them could kick the Cubs ass. True, but it beats the hell out of getting knocked around by Florida if it happened. Been there, done that. Havnt those bastards caused us enough grief? I wonder if the Marlins could actually give one of the NL playoff teams trouble (other than us, of course -- we'd get swept). I suspect that they would. They have some pretty good offensive players, especially with the emergence of Hermida. I'd like to think the Cubs would beat them in a series, but that is hard to say with their lack of recent success against them.
  19. Listen to the Sports radio while you guys are in Cincy this week. The hosts will all complain about the Cubs invading "their park." I've always wanted to call in and tell them they could solve that problem by buying tickets and coming to the game themselves. The hosts are also convinced that all the fans come from Chicago. now I'm sure many do, but most come from KY, Ohio, Indiana, etc. You don't have to live in Chicago to be a Cubs fan.

  21. He can join Milton there too... Milton is a stud. Milton is also an idiot.
  22. The Brwers play-by-play man gets the Mr. Optimism award. You'd think this was a tie ballgame.
