So what exactly is his deal? I noticed on the Iowa boards that he is getting killed right now. I thought he would be a better fit there. A lot of people are really skeptical about his system and his seemingly unwillingness to adjust it. The team also looks like they are getting worse as the season is progressing, people could take losing if the team looked like they were getting better. On top of that our recruits are terrible when compared with the rest of the conference. There isn't that much hope for the future really. The team also doesn't score consistently which turns away casual fans. Add to that where the team was 10-15 years ago, a team who consistently made the tournament and had sellouts pretty consistently (and the coach was forced to resign), to what you see today you have a lot of upset fans. There is still a lot of anger about Alford in the program and until the team gets to where they were under Tom Davis I think the anger is is going to spread and be directed at whoever is coaching the team. In reality, until Iowa gets a true practice facility that may actually attract decent recruits I think they are going to have to try to win with gimmicky basketball and the Todd Lickliters of the world.
