    Every day I check the standings and say to myself we've looked awful but we're still in this thing. If we can just get a win streak going we have a chance but we never seem to get on any kind of a roll. Maybe today we can start a good winning streak.

    I kind of want to see if both team can allow no hits and it's nice not to be too frustrated by the Cubs inability to hit the ball.

    These horns ruin the atmosphere of the games for me. You can't even here any cheering on a goal.

    Is there a chance that we'll have quite a few independents out of this? I can't imagine the non-invited teams (Bayler, Iowa State etc.) from the Big 12 will want to join a mid-major. I'll admit that I haven't followed all of this that closely though so maybe they have been invited to another BCS conference and I just missed it.

    I want the US to win mainly because the meltdown their country would have would be hilarious.

    I'm not completely against calling up a lesser prospect since the team isn't going anywhere and you can save someone from starting their MLB clock.

    I wouldn't know myself what the mindset of a hardcore soccer fan would be but I would assume that you would want your country to be good at your favorite sport so the likelyhood of seeing the best players in the sport would increase.

    Iowa vs Nebraska could, potentially, develop into a pretty good rivalry.

    If the Cubs won the series I can't even imagine the celebration. Sure there are two teams in the city but people would show up from everywhere in the country you'd have to imagine.

    List of some entire metro areas (city+burbs) that are smaller than the supposed number of people who showed up today: -Las Vegas -Columbus -Charlotte -Indianapolis -Austin -Nashville -Milwaukee -Memphis -Oklahoma City -New Orleans If two million showed up that's bigger than 15 states if the site that I found was accurate.

    I may regret saying this 49 years from now but I don't think they go another 49 years without winning the cup again.

    I've watched the initial celebration over and over and it really has to be the funniest celebrations in sports history. Kane and Sharp are going crazy and everyone else is kind of half assed happy, just reacting to Kane.

    Seriously, it's all downhill from here. Unreal. Though I would be happier with him if he won the best forward and silver medal back in February. I loved seeing Q's interview. Totally ecstatic by his standards. He's probably contemplating how he's going to help the team repeat. The life of a coach.
