  1. Holy [expletive] Iowa!!!! We looked like the better team today. That was awesome.
  2. Vandenberg looks like he's never played before.
  3. He'd have to do it twice I believe. A hanging on the rim technical is different than a technical from arguing or whatever.
  4. I'm pulling for OT to see if these guys can get to 100.
  5. This game is stupid.
  6. I'm fairly happy with the way Iowa played. They made some dumb decisions and couldn't defend much and that cost them the win. They have a tough schedule ahead and I have a hard time seeing them not start 0-7 at the very least.
  7. I doubt Iowa wins but they've been enjoyable to watch tonight. I love what I'm seeing from Devyn Marble.
  8. They led by 3 at home with a minute and change left, against a Boston team without Paul Pierce. Are you implying they won't go undefeated?
  9. Miami is going undefeated.
  10. I don't see how the Saints have a worse defense than the Packers.
  11. I would think that a potential dynasty involving the faces of your brand would be a positive for your brand as well but I don't know much about marketing. I don't completely understand why the big city thing matters that much as far as marketing a player goes. Everyone knows who Dwight Howard is now, why is it such a big deal that he be in the LA/NY market exactly? I'm sure there are plenty of benefits but what are they?
  12. I'm biased obviously but I'm trying not to be here. There are two reasons why I can't pick Brees over Rodgers. Brees has over 100 more attempts than Rodgers and with that advantage isn't that far behind Brees in yards. Conservative estimate says that Rodgers would have about 1000 more yards if he had the same amount of attempts Brees had. Brees also has more interceptions by a decent margin. I don't think you can discount Rodgers running ability either. He had over 250 yards rushing and kept many drives alive with his legs. He's not the best running QB ever but it's a weapon. Brees has done nothing like that running the ball. Drew Brees season has been remarkable but Rodgers has been even better.
  13. Bulls haven't looked good at all the first couple of games. Hopefully it's just rust from the long layoff.
  14. As a Packers fan I want nothing to do with the Saints at all. I have no idea how they will stop them.
  15. Dallas is down 27 at half to Denver. Not a good start for them thus far at all.
  16. What are you arguing? It seems to be that the Cardinals have been a better franchise than the Cubs. No [expletive].
  17. Why is GIDP being used as evidence for anything?
  18. I know it's Christmas and I know you guys are incredibly down on the Bears but it's still a little weird to have the thread this dead for a Bears/Packers game.
  19. No idea how they won but I'll take it.
  20. This is one of the worst halves I've ever seen. I'd rather it be now than in the playoffs. Rip has to stop reaching when he's beat. If he's not on the court teams will just double Rose like crazy and we're screwed. Hope Rose is ok after he hit his head.
  21. Miami looks pretty good but it is game 1 of the regular season.
  22. Kansas City I'm pulling for this.
  23. Boise/Michigan or even Baylor/Michigan (or heck, Boise/Baylor) would've been a great Sugar Bowl. No one is getting excited for Michigan/Va Tech. I doubt even Michigan fans are that excited. I don't really have a problem with that game - both teams are pretty good and it should be close. I do have a problem with a very good Boise st team facing crappy Arizona st. The spread on the game was 4 touchdowns and the result was the joke that everyone expected. As a college football fan I'd much rather see Boise play someone good, even if it's not a BCS game then someone like oklahoma or Georgia or south carolina. Even michigan st or Nebraska. I think bowl games would be more interesting if there weren't tie ins. In my fantasy world where bowls exist but we can't have a playoff we line up all bowl eligible teams and either they'd rank the bowls and they would go down the line and pick teams or they'd just line them up and play 1 vs 2, 3 vs 4, 5 vs 6 etc. It would be more fun that way. But there are a lot of things (a playoff is the most obvious thing) that could be instituted in college football that would be more fun that will never be instituted.
  24. Getting Rasmus and having him become the great player he was hyped to be in the minors would almost be as cool as signing Pujols would have been in the pissing Cardinals fans off department.
  25. It's kind of frustrating that we're going the rebuilding route (if true) considering who the other teams in the division are losing. Maybe we're trying to rebuild while at the same time hoping to steal a weak division in the next couple of years. Not exactly what I want from a team of our market size but I'm just trying to remain optimistic.
