Boise/Michigan or even Baylor/Michigan (or heck, Boise/Baylor) would've been a great Sugar Bowl. No one is getting excited for Michigan/Va Tech. I doubt even Michigan fans are that excited. I don't really have a problem with that game - both teams are pretty good and it should be close. I do have a problem with a very good Boise st team facing crappy Arizona st. The spread on the game was 4 touchdowns and the result was the joke that everyone expected. As a college football fan I'd much rather see Boise play someone good, even if it's not a BCS game then someone like oklahoma or Georgia or south carolina. Even michigan st or Nebraska. I think bowl games would be more interesting if there weren't tie ins. In my fantasy world where bowls exist but we can't have a playoff we line up all bowl eligible teams and either they'd rank the bowls and they would go down the line and pick teams or they'd just line them up and play 1 vs 2, 3 vs 4, 5 vs 6 etc. It would be more fun that way. But there are a lot of things (a playoff is the most obvious thing) that could be instituted in college football that would be more fun that will never be instituted.
