  1. Oh and by the way, I ventured over to the Royals message board for the hell of it and they're all goin crazy thinking we're giving up one of: Pie, Harvey, Dubois, Cedeno, Hill for MacDougal. I just had to laugh, and I just pray Jim isn't stupid enough to do something like that.
  2. Minor league stint? Well, guess that's the next best thing to trading him. Maybe he'll come back playing like he should be. As for MacDougal, I guess why not, as long as we dont give up any big prospects for him. Maybe we can talk Baird into taking Remmy and Macias off our hands.
  3. Rondell White or Craig Monroe anyone? Sorta just thinkin out loud, so don't go after me for a bad idea. Monroe had a nice season last year and is having a somewhat descent year this year. White is also putting up nice numbers and assuming he stays healthy, (I think we know about his injury filled past) I wouldn't mind him on the team. Thoughts?
  4. Lets have a look at this. Does anyone think Speier would make a good manager. Maybe one of the motives the Cubs used to get was he would be a candidate to be future manager. Or just so we would have someone better than Wavin Wendell. Also, I always thought Joe Girardi would make a good manager.
  5. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/minors/050705dish.html Tuesday's Daily Dish has a blurb on Pawelek as well as a blurb on former Cub prospect Justin Jones.
  6. from BA's Daily Dish: • David Aardsma, acquired by the Cubs in the LaTroy Hawkins deal earlier this year, has moved back to the bullpen after working almost exclusively as a starter this year in an effort to master his slider. "It had good motion and had the right movement, it was just down--which if you have a problem, I would much rather have that problem than have it up," Aardsma said. "But at least I wasn't giving them anything to hit. I'm really trying to find my slider, I don't care if I give up eight runs, as long as I have that good slider because that's what's gonna get me back up (to the majors)." The righthander from Rice got his second save for Double-A West Tenn by pitching a perfect ninth in a 9-6 win over Huntsville.
  7. No links but I hear that there is no timetable for Nomar's return and Williamson is rehabbing I think in Daytona or Boise. Or I could be wrong.
  8. Per Rotoworld: Bobby Bradley - S - PIT Pirates released RHP Bobby Bradley. Bradley has had massive control problems this year, but that's a first for him and he's still pretty talented. Maybe he'll turn it around elsewhere. It's surprising that the Pirates just released him whether than try to get him through waivers. Jul. 1 - 1:02 pm et He used to be one hell of a good prospect. He's still only 24. Anyone think it's worth a shot to sign him?
  9. It was actually while punching and tossing around some water coolers in the dugout. Still pretty stupid. And then there's Oliver Perez, and I won't get into that.
  10. Congrats, Hoops! You're a great poster. Have fun at the covention!
  11. I was PriorPower on the cubs.com message board and I'm PriorPower on this message board.
