  1. And here I am. Though I will say his senior year year was good, but not as good as it could have been. I think he could be healthy for next season and if he gets undervalued because of the injury and drops into the second round or so, he could be a good pickup.
  2. I am not kidding when I say this ( I mentioned it in my "rank my team" thread): The first overall pick in one of my drafts was Victor Martinez. I think that wins for wierdest.
  3. In my other league ( I think my team is fairly strong and it's a 10 team league): C- Jorge Posada 1B- Paul Konerko 2B- Josh Barfield SS- Carlos Guillen 3B- Aramis Ramirez OF- Alfonso Soriano, Grady Sizemore, Raul Ibanez UTIL- Travis Hafner, Ryan Freel Bench- Stephen Drew, Kevin Youkilis, Austin Kearns SP- Brandon Webb, Aaron Harang RP- BJ Ryan, Chad Cordero P- Rich Hill, Derek Lowe, Kelvim Escobar Bench- Freddy Garcia, Jon Garland, Mike Gonzalez Only problem is I think my pitching staff isn't great, but it's not bad. I don't know how competitive this league will be since the kid with the first overall pick took Victor Martinez with that pick. It's me and a few friends, and I guess I'll see how it goes.
  4. I like my team. I think it's pretty balanced. I say that now, lord knows what will actually happen this season: C- Mike Piazza 1B- Ryan Howard 2B- Brian Roberts SS- Orlando Cabrera 3B- Chipper Jones OF- Matt Holliday, Alex Rios, Michael Cuddyer UTIL- Mark Teahan Bench- Carlos Quentin, Jacque Jones, Rich Aurilia SP- Jake Peavy, John Lackey RP- Chris Ray, Joe Borowski P- Tom Glavine, Brad Penny, Nate Robertson Bench- Jake Westbrook, Jeff Francis
  5. Words cannot describe how good that team looks. How many teams are there?
  6. If he's a pitcher and his arm is still atached, the Red will take him.
  7. They're going to enter the season with 25 relief pitchers.
  8. How dare you leave out Mark Grudzielanek and Angel Berroa? I hope Grudz hits .400 and Berroa actually plays well. And while we're at it, I hope Buck has a better season than Mauer and DeJesus goes 30/30.
  9. I now hope Gordon, Shealy, and Teahan all hit 40 homers this year and lead the Royals to the playoffs.
  10. And they signed Josh Phelps to compete with Andy Phillips. I smell a hot postion battle there.
  11. This should probably go in the fantasty forum
  12. Too bad. I would have liked to see him in Cubbie blue.
  13. If Murton gets less than 300 ABs, I will one unhappy camper. Unless he performs poorly, which I hope he doesn't.
  14. Sarcasm? If not, Alex Sanchez took steroids and he's a twig.
  15. 5 frickin votes?! *swears loudly*
  16. He will be on the 5 Good Minutes segment, or so I am informed.
  17. There are some reaches on your pitching staff, such as Prior, but most of them seem reliable, if not spectacular. If Johnson isn't getting the saves in Florida, I'd suggest acquiring another closer. The offense looks incredible, incredible enough that Alou and his declining power and Bonds and his deteriorating knees shouldn't be too much of a factor.
  18. I have high hopes for this kid this year.
  19. Seconded. All in favor?
  20. That sounds about right, though I could see Veal starting the year at AA.
  21. That's an interesting thought. I bet at least one of the vets will see it that way.

  23. Beat me to it. Anyway, thank God. I did not wanna see him in a Cub uniform.
