    I didn't know that and that sucks but if I stopped rooting for any athlete who voted R then I probably wouldn't be watching sports.

    Also this is happening because I'm a card collector and have a Cam Smith 1st Bowman card and an Isaac Paredes autograph redemption card due in the mail today.

    Considering all the names thrown out, this is fine. I like Paredes and I like Cam Smith but Kyle Tucker is an elite OFer. I was prepared for a worse deal if it happened. Wesneski is another guy I like but we have the depth there. He's not irreplaceable.

    I can't believe Jed is doing it. I'm excited. Tucker is so damn good. Even if it's just for one year, puts us in the driver's seat in the division. And maybe he likes playing here and considers an extension. It's not crazy.

    Let's horsefeathers go. I'm guessing Bellinger to the Yankees for Warren and another prospect. Paredes, Cam Smith and Warren and another prospect to Astros.

    Yes I am old enough to remember the Brian Roberts fiasco. AND the "Jake Peavy singing Go Cubs Go in a bar" story. One of these days Peavy will be a Cub. Matter of time! Our hypothetical teams in the 2000s were great!

    Yeah I took Crochet as a response to Yankees getting Fried. At this point feels like Bregman is staying in Houston or going to the Yankees. Maybe the Mariners.

    It's always "fun" to watch this place go from resigned defeat to hope to anger and back to resigned defeat. I'd say that if Hoyer doesn't put something together this offseason and we have another mediocre year, he's toast but I'm not sure how much PTR cares at this point as long as he makes money.

    I mean, they can "like" or "ask" whatever they want. And Tucker is one of the best OF in the game. But the Soto deal last offseason was a good, young starting pitcher and some good but not elite prospects (you could argue Higashioka for Grisham was a wash). So something like Paredes and/or Seiya and Horton and Caissie along with a lesser prospect or two should get it done.

    I keep wondering that too. Could be nothing, just delays in making the paperwork official. Or Jed is juggling a lot of deals at the moment.

    I know the meetings are basically over but it would be nice if there could be a few more big things by the end of the night.

    Darn, that's too bad. I'm still a fan and think he would've settled into AAA this year if not for injury. Crazy that he's still just 22.

    Workman was a top 30 prospect in the Detroit system by Pipeline and FG. Solid defender who has played 3B, SS and 2B. Good power and speed combo. If he can cut down on K's there's something good there. I dig it as a Rule 5 gamble, especially given what our current bench looks like. I'm choosing to take it at face level and not wrap it into any other rumors.

    Did the Ramgers really just trade Maximo Acosta and two other interesting prospects for the Marlins' Patrick Wisdom? I know Acosta's star has faded but that seems like a lot.

    I wanted Fried but it's clear we were never involved. Ok let's keep the deals going, Winter Meetings. Yankees rotation is now: Cole, Fried, Rodon, Gil, Stroman, Cortes, Schmidt. Someone's gonna be on the move from there, right?

    I mean do you remember from what news source? As someone who worked in the industry, there are often pre written articles in case something goes down so maybe it was accidentally published. Or someone just posting some made up garbage and it was lost in the algorithm.

    Kelly is fine I guess, depending on the terms. Not who I wanted but he's a good defensive catcher who can hit a little.

    Madden has little social following but he's a long time and well respected NY sports media member. Worked for the Daily News for like 3 decades and written several Yankees and Mets books.

    Wow I didn't realize how insane Conforto's splits were this season. Home: .632 OPS and 3 HR Away: .852 OPS and 17 HR San Fran killed him.
