  1. 14-0 Penn State
  2. it's fun seeing another PSU team that can pass. shades of the '05 Michael Robinson team Agreed. This Clark-Norwood combination is deadly.
  3. That was an interesting series of events. 7-0 PSU
  4. If you're interested in Burrell, that means Fukudome moves to CF and Pie is traded. It looks like the Mets will be in the playoffs, but I had heard that they might shop Beltran if they missed the playoffs. A package starting with Pie and Marshall (plus others) for Beltran and his overpriced contract would be interesting. I would think that Cedeno will be traded to someone who needs a young SS. That was my thinking. I know we promised Fukudome RF, but i think we're better off with him in CF and getting a pwer-hitting RFer. I also have a feeling Cedeno and Pie will be gone this offseason, but then again I thought that last offseason too.
  5. Re-sign Demp, Wood and maybe Johnson. Let Edmonds and Blanco walk. Make K. Hill the backup catcher or sign a cheaper option than Blanco. I'm hearing rumblings that the Phils may sever their ties with Burrell. I'd be interested.
  6. Yeah, Lee's been disappointing.
  7. He'll be ready for next season in all likelihood. Maybe miss the first month if that.
  8. Wow, didn't realize how close their stats are. Except for K's.
  9. I'm more or less just frustrated. It'll be hard to miss the playoffs unless we do this the rest of the season. I'm not really worrying unless we get swept by the Brewers in both series.
  10. ...but seriously, when are the Cobs going to actually win a game?
  11. I have a bad feeling Pie gets traded this offseason. I hope he gets a chance to play this month and does well.
  12. Another reason why saves are overrated. How much is Mariano Rivera making? Does K-Rod think he's better and who would be dumb enough to spend that on a relief pitcher?
  13. Geez DeRo and Theriot got no screen time. And I think the Yankees got thrown in there because they're the Yankees.
  14. Barry Bonds would want McGwire to play again to take away some of the heat.
  15. Darn, I really liked Lieber. If he retires, I wish him well.
  16. if either the game at syracuse or at home against temple are competitive, there's a problem. clark looks pretty good as far as making the right decisions, which nobody would ever say about morelli. we shouldn't lose more than 3 games this year, and if we can't beat michigan this year, i'm pretty sure it will never happen. Agreed. Clark so far has made better decisions, been more accurate, and has the wheels to run for the first down/TD himself. We should finish with a better record than the last 2 years but we'll have to see. i'd say the following games are games that psu definitely should win: @syracuse, vs temple, vs michigan (i know we never beat them, but we're just better than them this year and it's a home game), vs indiana, vs michigan state. -- that's 7 wins should lose: @ohio state so that's 7-1. the other games - vs illinois, @purdont, @wisconsin, @iowa. i think all those games are winnable but it's more likely that psu wins 2 or 3. wisconsin is beatable if you force the qb to beat you, but since half of the defensive line is either pugilistic or high, we're pretty thin up there, and i could see wisconsin just pounding the ball and wearing psu down. i think you just have to put 8/9 in the box and try to get enough pressure on evridge that he makes some bad throws. illinois will likely be high scoring but i think we should win that one as well. i don't have a good feel on purdont or iowa; i think purdont is better and that game might be a little tougher. I can agree with that assessment, with the exception of Purdont. Not familiar with that school.

  18. Howry's been bad this year but he's at least gone through stretches where he's been passable. Gagne has just sucked.
  19. I'm fine with this thread as long as we don't start arguing who should win a GG.
  20. I know it was a bit of a blowout, but I'm still disappointed. Secondary was terrible and Devlin looked like Morelli. Mickey Schuler was on fire, though.
  21. This thread is so much fun I want to sleep with it.
  22. D-Linemen Maurice Evans, Abe koroma and TE Andrew Quarless are the ones suspended. Backup CB Willie Harriott has been kicked off the team. Just swell. Sucks about Evans and I'd have to assume this is Quarless's last straw.
  23. FJM ripped this apart.
