http://blog.stats.com/2009/01/whiff_profile_aaron_heilman.html A piece on Heilman and his pitches. According to this, they are pretty good and he has a history of pitching out of the zone rather than attacking hitters. They also predict his 09 will be like his better years.

That's a shame. I was looking to get it. I checked the Sports Mogul site and 2006 Baseball Mogul is apparently free. Worth it? I've only played the 2008 version and I don't have it anymore. -

Huh. Obviously he's got some power and a little speed but that appears to be about it. Career minor leaguer then? He posted good numbers before last year. Probably won't ever be a star or starter, but he could turn into a decent bat off the bench if he turns it around.

Wasn't the other one to like 60 something? It was over 100 I believe. It was just under 100. Like 97 or something. Unless this trade rumor picks up steam it might fall just short if you combine the two. But there was another thread that discussed Peavy and other potential acquisitions at the time like Bradley that was 20+ pages I believe if you choose to include that Yeah, combine all that and Peavy was longer. Not that it really matters.

Heilman wasn't great last year but I'd take him in a heartbeat if it's just Cedeno and a middle-tier minor leaguer.

Interesting perspective - I had only been thinking of Heilman for our bullpen, but that could be true! I personally think Castillo's value today is more than Stevens' value, but I feel that Stevens will end up to be more valuable to a MLB team than Castillo would. If we were to acquire Heilman, I'd use him in a Peavy trade if the Pads want him. We still have Gaudin, but I'd want to keep one of Marshall/Olson/Heilman, preferably Marshall.
