  1. This is how I feel. The good thing about baseball, is that it is simply one game in a very long season. The bad thing is that considering the pitching match ups, this should have been a very winnable game for the Cubs. Agreed. I had friends getting worked up over their teams losing yesterday. It's the first game of the season. There's still 161 to go. Chill out.
  2. I agree. He hasn't been what we've expected, but he hasn't been a complete bust. He still put up a very respectable OBP last season and hit well in the first half. I think he improves again this year, especially if he's platooned a little more.
  3. Is it sad I wasn't surprised by anything? I actually called Heyward's homer and a couple of the other miscues. Typical.
  4. I don't see it happening. They won't eat that much salary and wouldn't get enough in return to make it worthwhile.
  5. That's fairly amusing. I laughed. Glad she's OK.
  6. Did the front office actually make a smart decision? I'm floored.
  7. Wood's 20Ks, definitely. I'm not downplaying the perfect game. That's a tall feat as well. I just think it's more impressive to miss bats against 20 batters in one game. That's all on the pitcher and the catcher.
  8. Why does the organization feel that Kevin Millar is worth a bench spot? Can't he just be a clubhouse mascot or something? Or Dempster's prank buddy? I really hate wasting a roster spot on him.
  9. Meh. We're stuck with him regardless. I'd rather see Gorzelanny get a shot. But let's give the ball to Silva and see if he can try and not be useless for 2-3 starts. If he holds up or fails miserably, it's still a very short experiment with Lilly ahead of schedule on his rehab.
  10. I can understand the Will Leitch hatred, but I don't think he's a bad writer and I think this was actually decent. He basically hit the nail on the head.
  11. Lotta money but still a good deal. Good for them.
  12. If Hendry could somehow get the Twins to eat some of Wood's contract he should be voted Executive of All-Time. :D #-o The next sentence was in my mind, so I f'd up.
  13. I'd love to have him back, though only if the Twins ate some of his contract. There are rumors that the Twins are looking at Wood with Nathan now hurt.
  14. Brian Roberts is hurt and the Orioles are looking for a temporary second baseman. Fontenot for someone like Cla Meredith and a prospect? Just spitballin possibilities here.
  15. If they can trade Silva for him, sure. That would be sweet. They can't do that. That would be Jim Hendry owning up to two mistakes.
  16. With Guzman now shut down and possibly out for awhile, is there anyone out there other than Frasor or Downs that would be appealing?
  17. DLee is too high. Cap Anson is too low.
  18. Muskat tweeted that Guzman has a torn ligament in his shoulder and will miss Opening Day. Whether he needs surgery is unknown. Just great.
  19. Good deal for the Mets. Dumb the Cubs wouldn't pull the trigger on something like that.
  20. That was one of the best games I've ever seen. So intense. Reminds me of why I love hockey so much.
  21. It's amazing how little each of the big three has accomplished since leaving the A's, though Hudson has had some success.
