  1. Eh. I wonder how much the slot money is. I'm ok with taking Arrieta and seeing if we can't fix something or try him out of the pen. That said, I would've preferred a prospect as opposed to Strop but what's done is done. Not disappointed but not excited either.
  2. That's a few weeks old. And from a different angle the ball was actually like 5 feet behind him.
  3. This was old five years ago. Do they just recycle material like a bad comedian and assume it still gets laughs?
  4. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?c_id=mlb&content_id=49475890&partnerId=as_mlb_20130603_8509184&ymd=20130603#alvote0603 JETER. FIFTH. WHAT.
  5. We have Shawn Camp sucking nearly every time he trots out there, but Bowden is the one DFA'd to make room for Garza. I don't get it.
  6. Yeah, that's who I would've guessed. He hasnt pitched well his last couple of outings. Sealed his fate. Couldn't bump Wood or Feldman. Also, what's going on with Scott Baker? I haven't heard any news recently.
  7. Yup. I liked the Harden trade at the time, though I was sad trading our favorite ginger outfielder for him. Happy for Donaldson. Didn't think he'd do this well either.
  8. So how many pitchers have made the jump from dumpster-diving pickup to closer quicker than Kevin Gregg (as temporary as it is)?
  9. Such a tool. Was there ever a follow-up to Brian Kenney ripping him apart and challenging him to a discussion?
  10. God, they're gonna be good for awhile.
  11. John Buck thinks he's Mike Piazza. Also Jason Grilli has 8 saves and 15 Ks in 9 innings and a 0.00 ERA.
  12. I just noticed that Paul Maholm is 3-0 with zero earned runs and 20K in 20 IP to start the year. Also, Joey Votto currently has a .289 average........and a .542 OBP.
  13. Kevin Gregg and Kameron Loe in the same day? I smell a championship!
  14. He's been the only consistent member of the pen, aside from Marmol and they probably wanted at least a couple guys up there who likely won't be traded during the season.
  15. I've always been a Ryan Sweeney fan. Good, low-cost signing. We're good on outfield depth, as someone said. Our infield depth is pretty putrid.
  16. So what does the roster look like now? The 25-man is mostly set, right?
  17. The Yankees are about to complete a deal for Vernon Wells.
  18. Wow. I mean, I hate Braun like everyone else, but that's insane the league is gonna bypass its own laws for a witch hunt.
  19. Reminds me of a few years ago when Jason LaRue was traded for what turned out to be $1. That was still more than this, though.
  20. What a joke. Nowhere near the plate.
  21. Oh, yeah, duh. Also Pineda to the 60 day DL to allow for the signing. Is he gonna pitch anytime soon? Lot of Yankees fans irate over that trade.
  22. So the Yanks' starting lineup to begin the year: Ichiro Jeter Cano Youkilis Travis Hafner Juan Rivera Boesch Fransisco Cervelli Gardner Woof. I could see Gardner having the highest WAR of that group.
  23. Marmol averages 8 BB/9 but somehow has an ERA under 3 at the deadline and some team bites Feldman actually finishes the season with a higher WAR than EJax Garza misses half the season Injuries force Trey McNutt up and he has a Randy Wells-espque flash in the pan season And... Prior makes it happen and gets called up to the majors. Dusty brings him in during the 3rd inning for mop-up duty in a blowout loss and lets him finish the game, causing his arm to actually detach from his body.
