    That kind of research would take years, years that we don't have for the purposes of this game. What a stupid, stupid idea. I don't think you understand how a time machine works. It doesn't matter how long it takes to create. As soon as it's complete, just take it back to get Cobb and then come back to 2010. People may notice you're a little older, but it's not a big deal. Problem solved.

    Very much so. We just had a riveting discussion in the Armando Gaalragga thread in this very subforum. I was very much a part of that discussion. Very few agreed with me, but there were no insults or jabs at other posters. Discussion was certainly stimulated. Thanks for playing, though. Are you sure you know what riveting means?

    Since money clearly isn't an object, I would invest some money in a time machine and go back to get Ty Cobb in his prime. While he might not be as athletically superior to players today as he was players of his time, I think I could help him channel his rage towards equal rights and he'd still be pretty great. I don't care about the rest of the team.

    So? He was a big part of the team a couple of years ago. No, he wasn't. I didn't say he was a great player. In 2006 he was a fan favorite and an important part of the team. Fans appreciate that. What made him an important part of the team? I can't imagine fans appreciating a .672 OPS, but I guess you guys are just really special.

    It seems pretty simple, it's an extremely rare feat for someone to strike out 20 batters through 9 innings. For someone to strike out 21 would be even more amazing. Regardless of a particular pitches skill set, the chances between two elite pitchers are pretty much a tie as it is. You can give the slight edge to Strasburg because he is young and throws 100 mph, but I think that edge is also negated by the fact that we really can't be sure what his future will look like, where as we can for Lincecum. so basically, a dumbed down version of what the guy above you said Just for you imb That way he can understand it. Do you contribute anything to stimulate discussion here other than insults and jabs at imb?

    If you disagree with someone, maybe you should actually address their post as soon as you read it. You could maybe even have an intelligent discussion instead of just typing some douchey one-line response a month later.

    seriously? You wouldn't rather have a guy that puts up a .900 OPS every month than a guy that goes .700 to 1.100 to .700 to 1.100 to .700 to 1.100 over the course of the 6 months? You realize you don't just add up the runs at the end of the season and the teams with the best run differential makes the playoffs, right? That's a pretty stupid question to ask, but yes, I do know how baseball works. If both players produce the same numbers, I'm not sure how we can determine that one was more valuable based on how they put those numbers up(though I guess Tango has a formula). It just doesn't make sense to me for a team to focus on consistency instead of just finding the best players. And it isn't a discussion of preference. The poster who brought it up said the Cubs needed more consistent players, implying that he thought it would make them better.

    I don't understand why it matters if a player goes through hot and cold streaks. If a more consistent player puts up the same numbers as a streaky player, what would make him better?

No, we had to wait 5 weeks in order for the comment to be valid. I wasn't trying to be clever. Get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? I'm having a fine day, thanks for asking. My problem with your post is that I think it's incredibly annoying to wait a month to respond to a post only to point out that someone was wrong(but in this case, he isn't technically wrong yet).

    Does it have to be a professional game? If not, I'd go to a random game in 1865 before April 15th and warn everyone about Lincoln's assassination. If that's not an option, then Game 4 of the 1963 World Series.

    I've been watching every game - I don't notice anything... I don't get why you have to mention it in every post. A more appropriate reference would have been Lee's chair explosion. that's certainly good news. it's time like these i wish we had an inside source that could just get on here and say one way or the other whether or not they'd heard or knew something. Oh well, back to speculating, i guess. Who needs an inside source? If he was hurting it would be noticable by now. He's a center fielder, so it would be hard to mask a lower leg injury if it was any sort of serious. Your eyes have decieved you. So again, why is this being brought up in every thread? Because he gets off on the attention. How many times are you going to say this? It's more overused and annoying than anything imb's said, imo.

    I almost picked him in the first mock draft that NSBB did. Like Mathis, he's too small to be a 3 down DE consistently. But he'll be a fantastic 3rd pass rusher for their scheme and that really hurt them in the SB. I definitely think it's a good pick. Sounds nice. Thanks.

    I'm not either of them and my opinion probably doesn't mean as much (I don't know the Colts' needs as much as them), but Jerry Hughes is an explosive pass rusher. How he'll fit exactly, though, I don't know. I respect your opinion, but CCP and Exile usually make posts about the Colts picks that make me feel good.

There are stats that are generally described as individual stats as I'm sure you know and QB rating is one of them. Stop nit-picky and being a prick just so you can try and look right.
