  1. I want arrieta on the bumgarner schedule...start 1 and 5, available for multiple innings of relief in 7.
  2. i appear to have "won," but you only "win" a chance to get them?
  3. baez is my favorite because it won the series and i bet that [expletive] felt real good for javy.
  4. um bosio apparently said lester was starting game 1?
  5. one of the reasons i immediately said the mets was i didn't want to lose schwarber when facing stupid brett anderson, but he has reverse splits for his career.
  6. curious to hear what that guy's alternative playoff scenario would be.
  7. bunch of idiot babies can't tie their own ties OR hit a baseball.
  8. HA HA [expletive] LOSERS
  9. mets definitely. especially since they wouldn't have to face degrom (the only guy that is close to being on kershaw/greinke's level) until game 3.
  10. yeah, if there was ever a time you consider sitting a guy who has reached base nine times in a row it's soler vs lackey.
  11. and while we're at it, start Grimm for an inning or two and THEN put in Hammel so he can avoid his usual 1st inning woes you could do that and bat grimm in the 2nd spot and use coghlan to ph for him in the bottom of the first. LOT OF GOOD IDEAS HERE
  12. start coghlan at 2b, castro at ss. bat coghlan 2nd. let him bat once in the bottom of the 1st, then take him out, put baez in at ss, slide castro to 2nd. that gets coghlan the one ab he would probably get if he doesn't start, but ensures that it comes against a guy he hits well vs. the plethora of guys out of the cardinals' pen that he doesn't match up well against.
  13. or multiple replays of plays being reviewed or having the pitch count on the screen at all times or not having guys watching their first game of the year working the booth.
  14. let's work on getting shots of who is warming in the bullpen and check swings before we go asking tbs for footage OUTSIDE of the stadium.
  15. wainwrights jersey to the HOF after the game?
  16. these announcers are just dying to suck wainwrights dick
  17. good job getting Bryant's ab out of the way, jorge
  18. man I really wanted to see a Schwarber ph appearance with guys on base vs Lynn...
  19. Basing the quality of the decision making solely on outcomes defeats the purpose of evaluating decision making. 1 man invests $100 in treasuries. 1 man invests $100 in lottery tickets. The first man's decision making is likely better irrespective of whether the second man wins the lottery. i'd definitely classify "hoping for a Ross hit in the 6th inning" under 'lottery betting' was gonna say the exact same thing.
  20. didn't say I wanted maddon fired. didn't say that matheny was a genius. no histrionics. you don't agree that matheny had a better game than maddon? I believe your exact words were "matheny running circles around maddon". Maybe you see that was hyperbole now (going to "had a better game"), but what you said was wrong. Matheny had a pitcher the Cubs couldn't hit. and the moves he made worked better than the ones maddon made (or didn't make). don't get why this is such a controversial position to take. if you'd rather have me say "maddon sucked tonight" and leave matheny out of it, that's fine. obviously lackey, the cubs hitters and an embarrassingly bad home plate umpire were the reasons the cubs lost, but maddon was bad.
