  1. hill gave up a run on two hits in the first.
  2. i thought xm couldn't broadcast split squad games. i'm really disappointed in their ST coverage...it blows.
  3. if i remember correctly, hohokam opens two hours before game time. i don't think i've ever seen the cubs take BP before a game there. they either do it before the park opens or at another location that fans can't get to. parking at hohokam does suck. it's all just grassy hills. we were there once in the middle of a serious downpour, and i seriously don't know how there weren't 500 accidents. cars were trying to drive up steep grass hills that were buried in standing water, tires were spinning, cars were rolling back down the hills...it took us forever to get out of there.
  4. Maybe Hill/Guzman have a chance to start the year in the rotation after all..... both have been better than williams or rusch, though obviously in limited action. i haven't been able to figure out dusty's formula as to who spring training counts for yet, however... It's a good thing he isn't managing the Padres. Bobby Hill, Josh Barfield, and Bellhorn are battling for the 2nd base job... wow, two guys he hates plus a rookie. he'd be making a call to delino.

  6. good thing spring training doesn't count for rusch.
  7. just like you're not used to spending the postseason at home. if you say it enough, it'll catch on.
  8. Just for that I'm taking Eddie away. In light of your historic avoidance of avatar and signature pics in the fear that it will divulge your true identity and somehow provide GPS coordinates to your exact location, I found it more shocking than the idea that Paula Abdul's stunt double has been using performance enhancers. Of course, there was the alternative theory floated by Abuck that you were too technologically challenged to figure out how to use the image function, but adherence to that idea would have forced me to give Abuck a scintilla of credibility. ABUCK might have been right. there's your new sig right there.
  9. last year the i-cubs' website posted the schedule for minor league spring training games, but the site has recently changed, so i don't know if they'll do it again.
  10. he makes it so easy.
  11. he saved the third inning! Just like he saved last year for the Cubs! Tough crowd. we love our neifi.
  12. spring training performance doesn't count for grissom. please refer to his 1996 numbers if you wish to evaluate his ability.
  13. i've been kinda disappointed w/ xm so far...they don't have up to date listings and yesterday's game was nowhere to be found.
  14. BRANDON SING (1) OFF JULIO MATEO IN THE 3RD BRANDON SING (2) OFF DAVE BURBA IN THE 4TH
  15. he honestly can't be surprised when people say he doesn't like young players. his quote about how ST is for the young guys doesn't make any sense at all.
  16. too late! pitch by pitch analysis of hill's outing, please. :D
  17. that's really sad. both that you enjoyed that so much and that you think hawkins blew the 2004 season.
  18. i'm just glad we get to do some more hawkins bashing now that he's been gone for eight months. meet back here again in july or so?
  19. wow, it seems like most people who were anti-corey were pro-dusty. something's got to give now that they've both used the base-clogging line.
  20. i agree. i mean, i like going, but it's not always worth the hassle, money, parking, travel, trying to get tickets, etc. it especially seems that way when i see games in such a relaxed atmosphere in ST and des moines.
  21. I'd be interested to see if Hairston's OBP last season was inflated by his HBPs. He'd definitely be a better option than Neifi. it was. at one point in the season i figured out his OBP w/o the HBP, and it wasn't that impressive. don't remember the specifics of it, however.
