    i got all ready to say screw it and head down for the game, but then outs starting flying by, and i realized i wouldn't get there til the 7th at the earliest. plus, the no-hitter's over (boo!). 5 ip, 1 h, 0 bb, 8 k's

    yeah, well, i didn't see any reason why hill would be in the minors this long when he's been arguably the best pitcher in minor league baseball over the past two seasons and the cubs are 400 games under .500. but the cubs can surprise you like that.

    welp, they're no kearns and lopez. maybe now wuertz can come up and sit in the pen for weeks on end while novoa sees if he can get his whip up over 2.

    So, if you trade Aram and get Arod in return, you're blowing up the team? I don't uderstand. Does Arod play for Dodgers? See MY post above. :D To be serious, I would not trade Aram for prosects unless I knew for sure that he was going to opt out of his contract. It has taken the Cubs 30 + years to find a quality 3b, and I dont want to wait for another 30 years. And no, Arod does not play for the Dogers. :lol: that's kind of a silly reason to want to keep him.

    the i-cubs' website, which had listed TBA as the starter for the 5:05 game, now lists ryu. that better mean hill is going in game 2.

    yeah, thank heaven we were able to preserve the ever valuable arms of roberto novoa, scott williamson and will ohman. i don't know what i'd do if one of them were to be overworked.

    if there were runners on 2nd and 3rd and the ss bobbled it, two runs would score. that would be better than a walk.

    Besides general business ethics, yes, the commissioner's office would most definitely get involved. Maddux to the Dodgers with everyone knowing that if Maddux intends to suit up next season at all it will be as a Cub is more likely. if maddux comes back to the cubs in '07 i'm going to be oh so disappointed.

    from what i've seen at iowa, quade is not a very good 3b coach.

    i'm glad that theriot is getting starts, but i don't like why he is getting starts -- speed and defense. walker has to be begging to get out of there.

    it has been absolutely miserable this week in des moines...heat indexes were up in the 110-120 range for parts of iowa, and power was out where i live monday night. probably had something to do w/ it.
