geez, my team can do no wrong...70+ points today w/o a start...340+ points for the week, and i have four starts tomorrow. obviously, i couldn't have asked for much more than this for week 1.

i almost just want to bench all my relievers right now, because blown saves are the quickest way for me to lose this lead.

eh, the homeruns were flukes...if he keeps missing bats at this rate, i'd be willing to bet he doesn't give up three homers in very many games. third 10+ k game of the MONTH for hill...era is still under 2 for september.

this is a yearly event where the i-cubs get a bunch of guys to come sign autographs. last year they had aparicio, carew, reggie jackson and seaver. the year before that was lou brock (who didn't end up showing), puckett, molitor and winfield. so that's 8/8 on hall of famers. well, the first person announced for this year's event.... deion sanders????? what???

i did claim him prior to the time that lineups were due, if that makes you feel any better. I'm liking him better this inning! -- edit Damn double plays. :evil: yeah, that was lucky. thankfully they took him out...i've lost a couple close QS tonight, so i'm glad to get this one.

Nice start for the good guys tonight. about even offensively through day one. your pen has been good to you...so far. i'm just glad oswalt didn't throw a shutout. as long as you keep the 30 point starts to a minimum, i think my offense can keep me in it. i just about sat glaus this week...glad i didn't.

hill loses to carpenter in his bid to be NL player of the week. hill: 2-0, 14 2/3 ip, 0.61 era, 0.75 whip, 16 k's carpenter: 2-0, 16 ip, 0.56 era, 0.94 whip, 15 k's BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if the cubs hadn't made all those defensive miscues in his first start, he could have lasted longer and had a better case.

ok, check that. juan, i tried to add clay hensley and drop ted lilly, but i think i need your approval. i was hoping to get him in time to put him in my lineup for his start tomorrow night. i put in the waiver claim before the games started tonight, by the way.
