  1. I absolutely love the patience Ramirez has shown this year. Love it.
  2. It was a backdoor slider with a 3-2 count that was taken for strike 3.
  3. Better question is why did he get out of the way? I think that alot when batters twist and turn to get out of the way, or back away from a slow curveball inside. I remember having a practice to specifically learn how to lean into a pitch. Our coach spent 2 hours chucking balls at us. I think he had a great time.
  4. I felt that way when Lee got the hit, oh well, this is our final stand instead of the 9th I guess Because Geo Soto and Mark DeRosa have both shown to be easy outs this year. there is also this guy seperating those two, you may have heard of him Not that I expected it, but this is kinda funny now.
  5. End this right now. No way we shouldn't score off Acosta.
  6. That homerun call was great. Hahaha just went back and watched it again and i loved it.
  7. JIMMMMMMY SOAPPPPPPDROPPPPPPING EDMONDSSFDFKJDSKFJ!111111!!!!!!!!
  8. because no one cares about stats like that I personally think it's an important stat. Cubs batting .208 in that situation. What if the Cubs get a bases clearing double with one out, then the next two guys make outs? It doesn't really matter when you score runs. If they were .208 overall with RISP I'd be concerned It depends on the situation. Usually later in the game, 2 out hits with RISP are much more important. Maybe a more important stat would be RISP/2 outs inning 7+. The more selective the stat, the less important it is. The most important is how the team is overall performing. We have the best offense in baseball (most runs scored) to this date, so I wouldn't worry.
  9. Comments like this make me :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: Get used to it; I'm very sarcastic. You also said: So I don't think you were being sarcastic.

So one of our next 3 hitters is bad and that means we have no shot?

  13. Funny, I love ARam all the time. I have more confidence with Ramirez in an 0-2 count or any 2 strike count than I have with almost any other hitter on our team in any count.
  14. I can deal with the B&W, but the camera angles are rather annoying.
  15. Raw is right. I'd like to change my vote from 4 to 3.
  16. Wow. This is bad. Very, very bad.
  17. I'm thinking a good comp here is Linebrink '07. He was the hot BP arm last July, and was dealt for Will Inman and two other minor leaguers. The Brewers let him walk and took the picks (#s 35 and 54). So what can we equate that to? Veal, Hart, and a throw in? And unfortunately I think there is little chance of getting Cook. I don't think he's going anywhere and even if he was I'm not sure if the Cubs can take on anymore long-term contracts.
  18. Does the DH HAVE to automatically bat for the pitcher or could you have them bat for a position player? Not that I would want the Cubs to do this, but I'm just curious.
  19. I don't really understand the logic behind purposely making the best team in the league better by giving them either an extra keeper or the first pick. I mean, the league is just for fun, and their reward is "bragging rights" or the satisfaction of knowing they were the best team in the league or whatever. The only thing I think makes sense is money. I wouldn't mind putting in $10 or so, but I think that would have to be a unanimous decision as we can't really force people that are already in the league to pay. Anyway, I like the idea of polls.
