  1. I'll be disappointed if Bay is a Pirate and Manny is a Red Sock at the end of the day.
  2. Hmm Bay to Boston, Manny to LAD, prospects to PIT? Makes sense to me.
  3. I especially love how Sabathia was very average while the guy that we got blew their lineup away. I know that it is just a couple of games, but the media made it sound like the Brewers made a far better move than we did. I love how Harden looked much better than Sabathia while we all know that Harden can do much better than that. And we have their best hitter bunting every other time he's up at the dish. HAHA!
  4. Already taken by me last round.
  5. I FLIPPING LOVE JIM EDMONDS!!!!!! HAHAHAHAA
  6. Roast has decided he doesn't have the time to run his team in my keeper football league so I'm looking for a replacement. The league is going into its 3rd season. Your 3 keepers will be anyone on his team. That likely means Chad Johnson, Maurice Jones-Drew, and Donald Driver or Javon Walker. You will also have the 2nd overall pick in the draft. So send me a PM or reply in this thread if you're interested in joining. The draft will be through a message board and start as soon as everyone joins up (probably beginning of next week).
  7. That's not even an improvement on what we have right now. And it makes up worse on defense... not a good move How is it not an improvement? Edmonds has been pretty bad in July and is banged up. Even if he's not, Ibanez is a better hitter at this point in their careers. Since the only changes are Ibanez for Edmonds then it is an improvement. Defensively its a downgrade. I'll agree with that. I'm just excited they are throwing around the possibility of moving Fukudome to CF. That's the best move for this team long-term. I still wish Pie would get a real chance in CF, though.
  8. Hmm, I didn't get it. Either email it again to mfranc3@uic.edu or just tell me the ID and password.
  9. Are we going to create the league and get everyone signed up? It would certainly make it easier to see who's available to be picked.
  10. Huh? Why would the Cubs trade DLee for Helton?
  11. Sorry. I'm with very limited internet access for the next week or so while I'm moving in to my new apt. That said, 4th and Goal selects Darren McFadden, RB, Oakland. I messed up last year by trading away AD. I'm not gonna make the same mistake again.
  12. That's what I imagine would happen if they re-signed Dempster. Pay Marquis to finish out his contract elsewhere (aka trade him to a team needing an innings eater). But they won't get anyone to take all of Marquis' salary unless Littlefield gets another GM job. Also, for those worried about what re-signing Dempster would do to the ability to re-sign Harden, you can do the same thing with his contract with Lilly coming off the books after 09. I was thinking about this earlier. If Hill gets it all together, I wouldn't mind trying to move both Marquis and Lilly this offseason to free up some money and go with a rotation of Z, Harden, Hill, Dempster, and Marshall next year with Gaudin able to step in if needed. That would be ideal.
  13. Seriously. Why doesn't someone ask him why he believes Marshall is a LOOGY when he's a SP and faces plently of RH. Ding Ding Ding I was the original one to make the point, but to play Devil's Advocate: Career vs. RHB = .271 BAA Career vs. LHB = .235 BAA The numbers are almost equal this year, but his OPS against is better vs. LHB Of course they are. I would think just about every LHP not named Mike Remlinger has a better BAA/OPSA against LH than RH, but that doesn't mean bad Marmol should pitch instead of Marshall. This is directed at the devil's advocate, not you. I'm pretty sure you agree with me.
  14. Seriously. Why doesn't someone ask him why he believes Marshall is a LOOGY when he's a SP and faces plently of RH.
  15. Finally someone asks it. And the response is baffling. Seriously? You couldn't even make up something better than that?
  16. Woody was unavailable because of a blister. Won't pitch tomorrow or in the AS game. :( Lou was right about that little bouncer back to Marmol. I was thinking the same thing. Marmol was too worried about his own stats and not letting that one run score and he allowed 5 (4 earned). GRILL HIM ON WHY HE DIDN'T TAKE OUT MARMOL!!!
  17. Harden was great. I'd like to see him do a better job being more economical with his pitches. He was up near 100 in the 6th and got pulled. He had 10Ks and I believe 3 BBs so that's a big reason why his PC was so high. Marmol was horrible. He needs time off. He didn't get hit incredibly hard, but his control was all over the place. Theriot is not the WORST defensive shortstop in the league, but he is pretty bad. Below average.
  18. Stop talking and start the Lou press conference. I cannot wait!!! Somebody freakin grill him.
  19. It's weird. I almost, ALMOST still feel like we lost the game today.
  20. untrue. Yes it is. He has horrible range, a horrible arm, and has made numerous poor decisions in the field. he's a little below average. i guess if you want to ignore all the fielding metrics and say that he's horrible at everything, that's your prerogative. Yes, because we all know how reliable and accurate fielding metrics are. generally they're more reliable and accurate than someone losing his mind after a poor play. Okay so he exaggerated when he called him "horrible", but he's right that Theriot is not good defensively. He's below average for starting shortstops.
  21. Gaudin, Cotts, and Howry's Pitch Counts/IP make me wanna throw up. We were up by 7 runs when Gaudin pitched and 5 when Cotts and Howry pitched. Let them freakin pitch.
  22. Now that's all Lou had to freakin do in the 9th. Jesus Christ.
