  1. All this team really needs next year, lineup wise, is an .800 OPS bat to replace Edmonds next year in some form or another. But I get what you're saying. I'd feel much better having a legit 3/4 hole hitter and D-Lee hitting 5th. However, I really wish Fukudome could hit enough to stay in right and have Pie/Johnson platoon in center.
  2. In other words, PERFECT GAME ALERT!!!!!!!! Soriano hopping to make the catch near the bullpen mound is scary. He seriously needs to stop doing that. I have no problem with him doing it out in the middle of left field. But when he's 5 feet away from a raised pitching mound, I'd rather he not.

  4. Double switch was with RJ taking over in CF. I believe Cedeno came in after Theriot grounded out after he fouled a ball off his foot.
  5. how many people really stuck with that team? i remember game threads that were 2 or 3 pages long, mostly fred doing play by play for himself. they were a complete waste of time to follow (except on rich hill days). I'll say one thing, it was a lot less stressful to watch the team at the end of 2006. Losing was expected. If they won, it was gravy. But if they blew a 5 run lead, it wasn't really a big deal because you hated pretty much everyone on the roster. classic game thread - 22 posts TOTAL. these game threads have twice as many before the game even starts. and of course a classic cob lineup: Pierre, CF Fast Freddie, 2B Ramirez, 3B Murton, LF Moore, 1B Blanco, C Coats, RF Cedeno, SS Mateo, P Wow that thread (and lineup) are hilarious. And about half the posts are just mocking how lame of a gamethread it was. And 55 pitches through 6 IP for Harang? hahaa
  6. His dad said in another thread that its only a pulled muscle and no damage to the rotator cuff or labrum.
  7. Heres the details as we know, during the Oakland/Texas game in the 4th inning Sean was in the middle of his windup when time was suddenly given to the hitter. Sean halted his motion and held onto the ball, not a good idea as a pitchers windup is one of the most violent actions and not natural. I was watching this game and knew that this wasn't good and asked Sean about it and he stated he was okay. Sean is a "warrior" when it comes to pitching and I swear his arm would have to be falling off to miss a start. I was a bit concerned over his past three starts as the walks started to add up and his control was off. It wasn't until I watched the Toronto game this past week that I suspected he was hurt. When he was taken out he informed the coaching staff that his shoulder was bothering him and tuesday morning he was on a plane back to Oakland. I just spoke with him after the results of his MRI and shows "no damage to the rotator cuff or the labrum". Great news but what did happen is that Sean pulled a muscle and hasn't given it the proper time to heal. I can't say anything about a trip to the DL as Sean is eager to get back and understands he will most likely miss a start. He will undergo Physical therapy and it will be up to Sean as to when he gets back out on the field. Of course me being the cautious parent and knowing Sean have told him to take the proper amount of time to heal this muscle and not do anything stupid!!!! In short this means Sean will try to be back on the field in the shortest amount of time but hoping coaching staff convinces him otherwise.. :yahoo: thanks for the update. thats good news.
  8. Didn't feel like starting a new thread. I have a trade offered to me in a keeper league (actually dynasty-keep ALL your players). I currently don't have a SS on my roster. I'm in 6th place (last playoff spot) out of 18 teams. So needless to say, it's a deep league. Anyway, I'm offered Jhonny Peralta for Yovanni Gallardo. I have Z, Lincecum, A. Sanchez, Gallagher (now hurt), Pelfrey, Liriano, Volstad, Liz, Hill as my other SP. I'm leaning towards doing it because Peralta is a solid option at SS for a league so deep. I also don't have any SS in my farm system so it's gonna be tough to get one. On the other hand, Gallardo is so young and should be a stud and Guzman was recently dropped and cleared waivers so that could be my SS right there. What do you think? Also, I'm thinking about getting him to add Gaudin and I add Liz (or Crede) because I need another bullpen arm. EDIT: Felipe Lopez is also available and will likely be a top 5 SS now that he's with the Cards.
  9. "And this is why you don't send Soto" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
  10. What's the hurry? Because then you can see who's available much easier than trying to look at an outdated list and the picks that were made since the list was updated. I mean some people (Roast) are having some problems with it. JK Roast
  11. Can we start adding players to the league now that its full? You can just add one player to each team and we can pick up the rest. It doesn't matter.
  12. As long as we keep winning, what they do doesn't matter. Their bullpen still has to pitch, right?
  13. Damn you! Sorry for the extra talk I just really was hoping Moss was gonna make it back. IMB is on the clock.
  14. Hasn't Eyre already cleared waivers (according to Jim Hendry)?
  15. Hey Bruce, Wanna join a fantasy football league? I need one more manager!
  16. No we're gonna leave it at 12. Ice said he wanted Jackson, Colston, Palmer/Parker team so you can have the other. Both of you guys need to post your keepers in a message on the yahoo league. Draft will be starting very soon.
  17. Vanilla Ice joined. lloydo also wanted to join but has yet to sign up. That means there is one spot remaining to take over whichever team lloydo doesn't take. Draft is going to most likely start tomorrow. Send me a PM or reply in this thread to join. Thanks!
  18. There are actually 3 openings. I may just decide to fill one and decrease the number of teams to 10. Anyway, the two other teams are really good. One of them somehow has the 3rd overall pick and has Adrian Peterson, Ronnie Brown, and Steve Smith as its likely keepers. The 3rd team (which picks 4th overall) has Colston, Parker, and Jackson as its likely keepers. I really need at least one person to sign up so we can get this draft started. Please PM me or reply in here if interested.
  19. I will take WR Roddy White and the Minnesota Vikings defense.
  20. I've noticed this as well. He's hit a lot of balls to right field that seem like they are going to carry, but alas, fall about 20 feet in front of the track. not even WTP!!!
  21. Not a problem..I'll wait. I'm fairly certain that you're not picking my guy anyway. I'm out after about 3:45 so if the picks aren't in by then you'll have to wait till tomorrow to pick again. Not really a big deal, but just figured I'd let you guys know I won't be around.
  22. I'd hang on to Hamilton. He's just too much of a stud to trade. Liriano is also a stud when healthy, but I'm not sure I trust how much he'll be healthy over his career. At best you'd break even if you make this trade, at worst Liriano is somewhere between Mark Prior and Ben Sheets and you gave away a tripple crown threat in his prime.
  23. No, he's not. He'll be decent though,. I agree with Raw. Seems like a decent deal for all involved.
