  1. Mirotic is so good already. Who is A?
  2. Interesting. I'd like to see how Noah/Gibson have fared in the past. Maybe they are negative this year because they are so similar as players and they miss out on the added offensive punch of having Gasol/Mirotic in there? Probably too small of a sample size and too many confounding variables to mean much of anything. But interesting, nonetheless.
  3. Good post and welcome to the boards :good: Agreed. And welcome as well.
  4. Didn't realize until they mentioned it on the ESPN broadcast last night, but Bulls are up to #2 in defensive rebounding. Remember early in the season when it was a big problem (Tristan Thompson)? Like the rebounding, I'm sure the defense will come around. Hopefully the offense remains great. EDIT: I looked up our defensive rebounding rate and it was 15th. Not sure what stat ESPN is using to proclaim were 2nd. Either way, it's been a massive improvement over the first few weeks of the season. Were 9th in offensive efficiency and 10th in defensive efficiency.
  5. Old DRose would have been cupping the ball, head down while he drives into traffic and draws contact in the lane. He is protecting his body much better and using that floater more efficiently than he ever has before. It is really encouraging to see. Loved the Brooks/Rose show in the 4th quarter
  6. That was one of the best played regular season games I've watched in the last few years. Superstar players (and Brooks) playing at a very high level and going punch for punch. Mirotic was big in that second quarter too. He's going to be a hell of a player. I told all you punks to stop freaking out about DRose weeks ago. Let's just hope he can continue to stay healthy. I really like how Thibs is managing his minutes. Plays a set 7-8 minute stretch each quarter.
  7. How about big FA next year : Cubs :: Hossa : Hawks and Lester : Cubs :: Brian Campbell? : Hawks Actually I think that works well. Hawks overpaid for Campbell, but he was what the team needed at the time. He also fit well with their young superstar players who were really good at scoring. Then the next year they went big again and won the Cup. I guess I can wait one more year for a WS.
  8. He's pretty bad a hitting baseballs these days so no thanks.
  9. In a world where there are less than 500 prospects rated as very good This. Come on guys, Mejia is a nice piece to have but it's not much to give up for a significant upgrade. This platoon is going to be very good. I feel much better about doing this trade than I would have been giving 4years+/$60M+ to Martin.
  10. Looking at these numbers, how is Montero in any way better the Castillo? Is it against right handed pitching? How do you look at those numbers and then make that comment/question? Do you not realize Castillo bats righty and Montero lefty?
  11. The crawl is "live" - the show at the time was not. Oh ok that makes sense. First time I've ever turned on MLB Network. Thought it was all one live show for some reason.
  12. Weird how the MLB network had their breaking news blurb on the bottom right of the screen about Robertson signing with the White Sox, but then proceeded to cut to Heyman discussing how the Yankees are still wanting to sign Robertson and then discussing how great it would make the Yankees bullpen.
  13. What else can he do? He can't create a shot and can't create shots for other. He thinks he's Draymond Green Pass the ball to Pau in the post or move the ball to Jimmy. Kirk down the stretch was a bad move, although MDJ gave nothing all night so I don't really know if there was a better option. Oh well, just get and stay healthy.
  14. Stop [expletive] shooting 3s, Rose!
  15. So are the Bulls. Especially when they aren't turning the ball over every other possession. We need to play Taj against Green more.
  16. You guys are the [expletive] worst. Just be happy Rose's knees are still intact. Come talk to me if he's healthy and still playing this way in February/March.
  17. I used to do FanDuel. A lot. Did basketball every night a few seasons back and even did write-ups with daily fantasy advice on rotogrinders for money. Basketball was pretty easy money as you really need to follow it closely to do well. So it would be easy to take out the people who only did it casually. I found football to be too much of a crapshoot for me. I'm a good season fantasy player, but from week to week it can be a bit maddening. I'm sure if I bet smaller and stretched my money out over a longer period of time, I would come out even or on top in the long-run. But I always ended up creating a team that I liked so much that I entered a ton of contests with it only to have my top player get concussed in the first quarter while my opponent had some lucky defense go off and put up 40. This year I've gone with entering yahoo pro leagues for money. I'm going to make the playoffs in all the leagues I've entered (thank you Andrew Luck), but I wish they would add a PPR option and 12 or 14 team leagues.
  18. This is what I expected when we signed Allen.
  19. GD Dan Marino doesn't have a SB ring, but Eli has 2. That's better.
  20. Contract cancer?
  21. If they can suck into a top pick and get one of the top 3 (Mudiay, Okafor, Towns) to add to Melo and sign Marc Gasol they will be back to NBA relevancy again.
  22. I always say I just want my teams to be competitive for the entire season and give me something to care about. Isn't that the purpose of sports...to entertain? Yeah, it's really nice to win championships but ultimately if my team gives me months of meaningful games, I'm pretty happy with the season.
  23. This isn't going to be a thing for you, is it? If Rose plays 50 games this year and is healthy for the playoffs, I'd feel better about the playoffs than if Rose goes 35 minutes a game for 80 games this year. Yes Rose needs to be healthy for the playoffs, but based on Rose's history, I wouldn't be surprised if he missed multiple games in the '15 playoffs due to not being 100%. He's very weak mentally. What the hell does this mean?? So sick of hearing how mentally weak he is. Rose is an idiot, but at least he's smart enough to sit out a few games in November when he is far less than 100%. If he was weak mentally I think he would be hesitant to make sharp cuts, drive to the basket, draw contact, push the ball up the court, etc. Call him injury prone or whatever you want, but quit pretending like this is some mental issue and not a physical one.
