  1. In one of the articles posted it said he's unable to play shortstop because of his weak arm. Shoot me now! ](*,)
  2. Now i really dislike the trade. JESUS CHRIST! btw, I kind of like Detroit's platoon of Jones and Thames in LF. Should be good enough production out of that spot for the next year.
  3. Awesome read before bed to put me in a good mood.
  4. It is still not a benefit. He isn't playing for free. I really cannot understand this. Baseball shouldn't be a fraternity club. It might help Fukudome transition better. If it's for a few pennies, why not. if its 3 years 12 mil...jim hendry's probably murdered before sundown, unfortunately. Unfortunately I heard the Cubs offered or are set to offer 3 years, $20M.
  5. The 0-9 start wasn't last year. Heck, it wasn't even two years ago. I'm not worried yet either. But the faults on this team are so obvious. No one can take over a game for us in the closing moments. We had a 4 point lead with 3 minutes to go, and we went into a huge drought. Which brings up another one of our weakness--scoring droughts. We have way too many of them. Skiles weird ass rotations need to stop too. That Duhon-Thabo-Deng-Noah-Smith lineup was an eyesore. Yeah, you're right. I don't know what I was thinking. Class/work from 8am until 11pm isn't fun. How could I forget the beat down we put on the Heat in Miami to kick off the season last year. Regardless, I wasn't able to watch tonights game, but I agree with you that they go into scoring droughts far too frequently and they last far too long. This is why we need a superstar (Kobe). When we're having trouble scoring, we need someone who can drive to the hoop and get fouled. We don't have that player. All that said, I don't think Pax is an "idiot". He's made some bad moves, but he's also made some good ones. I really wish we would have kept Chandler and never signed Wallace. The drafting of TT is also questionable, but I'm not even gonna go there. I still have faith in Pax and in this team. We have a good, young nucleus. They are gonna start to play much better and be one of the top 4 teams in the east when all is said and done. Hopefully along the way Pax can swing a deal for Kobe, but that's a lot easier said than done.
  6. Wow, talk about freaking out. Don't come back on the bandwagon when they get hot and start playing well or jump back on Pax's jock if he makes a trade for Kobe. 0-4...sucks, but not a huge deal. We always suck coming out of the gate. Not to make excuses, but our bigs have been banged up and a lot of other players seem distracted. They shouldn't be...but that's how they seem to be playing.

lmao Drafting and then trading Adrian Peterson was the greatest idea ever. I'm gonna go kill myself now. How's Ronnie Brown doing? Better? SUCK IT Oh wow, i forgot all about that trade. Yeah...ouch. To be fair, though, Ronnie Brown was the #2 ranked fantasy player before he got injured. Still, I really wish I would have forseen how amazing of a running back Adrian Peterson was gonna be. What a frickin beast

  9. No, he isn't. Not even close. He's a good complimentary player. I'd love to have him and Kobe on the same team. Hinrich plays great defense, hustles, and shoots decently. However, if giving him up means we get the best basketball player on the face of the earth, then sign me up. You're wrong. His numbers compare favorably to Chauncey Billups. He's the best defender on the team by far, and a good point. He's a better player than Gordon. This team would not be as good without him. Kobe can replace his defense. Kirk is wildly inconsistent on offense from night to night, and he is prone to turnovers himself. I like Kirk, and would wish he could stay and play with Kobe, but Id give him up in a minute for Kobe. You're also trading your team captain. I like Kobe. I want him on the Bulls. I'd give up Deng before Kirk, and Gordon and Thomas before both. Wow, you'd give up Deng before Kirk? That's nuts. Deng is the perfect player to play with Kobe. He moves great without the ball and Kobe will be able to find him when he gets double and tripple teamed. Deng is younger, plays about as good of defense, scores more, shoots with a better percentage, moves great without the ball, and is developing moves to create his own shot now. There's no way you trade Deng over Hinrich.

I just don't think he's underrated. Most people think of him as a good player, which he is. He's not great though (and either is Chauncey Billups). He's not a better defender than Ben Wallace. He is a better all-around player than Gordon. Once again, we're talking about Kobe Bryant.

  12. A possibility that works and allows us to keep Thomas: Sac gets: Gordon and Griffin Bulls get: Kobe Lakers get: Noah, Hinrich, Artest, Khryapa
  13. If Deng stays and Thomas isn't one of the "parts", I already like this deal for the Bulls, assuming they still have a PG at the end of the night. Does this mean Gordon is staying? Thomas starting for the Bulls was announced this morning before this deal was ever announced. I don't see how Thomas wouldn't be included. Sac gets: Duhon, Griffin, Khryapa, 1st rounder Bulls get: Kobe Lakers get: Hinrich, Artest, Thomas I could see that as a possibility. Money works out okay that way. EDIT: If Gordon is involved replace Duhon, Griffin and the 1st with Gordon and it works. I really hope that isn't the case, though.
  14. Same goes for me. I'm looking to move guys to get young players that I can maybe use as keepers. The only guy that isn't going anywhere (b/c he's gonna be a keeper for me and he's out for the year so nobody will want him anyways) is Ronnie Brown. Everyone else is fair game. I'll trade Travis Henry (along with Selvin Young for when Henry gets suspended), Ben Roethlisberger, even Rudi Johnson if the right offer comes along. Chances are nobody will make me an offer and no trades will happen..but I still figured I'd put it out there.
  15. There's a way to do it without giving up Hinrich or Wallace and without waiting until Dec 15th, but it would involve a pretty good gutting of the bench. It would be Gordon, Thomas/Noah (either one would work), Duhon, Thabo, Khryapa, and Griffin for Kobe. Those two deals would work in terms of salaries. Now, the roster would be pretty gutted. It would look something like.. PG - Hinrich, Curry SG - Bryant, Gardner SF - Deng, Nocioni PF - Thomas/Noah, Smith C - Wallace, Gray It should be noted that (I believe) we can, to some extent, deal with the depth issues in the offseason with the MLE. Yeah, that would gut the bench. I don't really mind losing any of them except for Thabo. Viktor and Duhon both have expiring contracts so I'm sure the Lakers wouldn't mind taking them back. Griffin still has 2 years left though...
  16. I have a feeling this is gonna go down today. My guess would be Hinrich, Gordon, Thomas, and Khryapa. The salaries won't match unless Hinrich or Wallace are included. Kobe said he wants to play with Wallace and the Lakers would prefer Hinrich over Wallace. I did the trade on ESPN's Trade Machine and the only way the salary would work is if Khryapa and Thomas (instead of Noah) were included. Starting lineup of Thabo, Kobe, Deng, Noc/Smith/Noah/Gray, Wallace wouldn't be too bad. Duhon (who sucks) and whoever doesn't start at PF off the bench. It would be a lot easier to do a deal after Dec. 15th (when Noc and/or Joe Smith can be included). That way, a more realistic trade of Noc, Gordon, Thomas (or Noah), and filler would work.
  17. How do the injuries to Thomas, Noah, and Wallace affect the Kobe trade? Either Thomas or Noah (along with Hinrich and/or Gordon plus draft picks) would certainly be involved in any deal for Kobe.
  18. Hopefully Arod, Posada, and Rivera give management the finger on the way to free agency. We already got a catcher! We do? What's his name??
  19. Isn't it illegal to give flight information about passengers without their permission?
  20. I really wish I didn't choose FedEx delivery for the NLCS. Seriously, the Cubs should just refund all the money anyone put into the playoffs. That includes game 3, all the playoff merchandise, all the beer people drank to drown their sorrows. Everything. We deserve our money back. Instead, we have to go through a lot of hassle to get a portion of the money we spent on unplayed games.
  21. Maybe Ramirez, Soriano, and Lilly got together and bet their combined salaries on the DBack's to win the series
  22. Exactly. I'm disappointed with the results in the playoffs, but who's to say the effort wasn't there. They tried their best, and it wasn't good enough. I enjoyed caring about baseball for the entire summer. I haven't been able to say that in a few years. I love wanting to watch the Cubs play in September and October, and I got that this year. Hopefully we can work get a few more players to improve our team. At worse, we're an 85-90 win team next year. I'm excited for the future and thankful for a fun year. Hopefully the ending is better next year.
  23. On a positive note, we were hitting the ball hard all night. We were making better contact against Webb than I was expecting. Unfortunately Marmol made a few mistakes and our hard hit balls were right at people or just a few feet short of the wall. I expect us to hit Doug Davis well tonight and come back to Chicago evened up at 1. If this happens, I like our chances to win the series. Our 1-5 hitters need to hit better. Any idea on what the lineup looks like tonight? Hopefully SOTO and not Kendall again.
  24. I agree, I usually HATE it when a manager trots his starter out there to start an inning with his trigger finger ready to pull him at the slightest sign of trouble. HOWEVER, usually that is because the starter has been struggling. Z, was getting much better as the night went on (I thought he was walking on a cliff the first few innings). I understand wanting to get him out with as few pitches as possible, but he was at 85. In the 6th he threw 15 pitches, and the 5th/6th/7th hitters were due up (who he had not let up a hit against) so he had a good chance of pitching the 7th and still coming out of the game with less than 100 pitches. I would have left him. But then again, I would have pinch hit DWard for Theriot in the 6th with the bases loaded. I would have pinch hit with Ward for Zambrano with the bases loaded. That would have been going to the pen early, and Zambrano had gotten a hit, but I saw that as a chance to blow the game open and I would have put the best hitter I could up there and hope for the best from the bullpen. That was my first thought, too. But then I realized Z had hit th ball well the first time up so you might as well leave him in and take your chances. And really, it almost paid off. Stupid freaking midget.... Zambrano stuck out with the bases loaded. The line drive he hit that Drew caught was in his 2nd AB. Theriot was on 2nd with nobody out. On that play, I would have liked to see Z show bunt to draw in the infield and then swing away. Try to pull the ball to at least get Theriot to 3rd with one out. Oh well...let's get em tonight!
