  1. I don't see Julius Jones or Marion Barber on the list, but I think both were taken. If not I'll take Jones first, then Barber. If both were taken (which I think is the case), I'll take Ben Roethlisberger.
  2. The saddest part has to be that Hee Seop Choi and Brendan Harris would likely be our best candidates for our corner infield. Ew. I guess Hinske could play 3rd? But he sucks too.
  3. Maybe if Fielder could run, the decision would be different. However, a gapper still wouldn't have scored Prince (although maybe it would have when Demp went 3-2), but nonetheless, it was the right call. I was debating with my stepdad when the move was made. He hates walking the bases loaded because he thinks it adds a lot more pressure on the pitcher to throw strikes. I think not pitching to Prince (who was due) far outweighs any of that.
  4. Khalil Greene was drafted by the Cubs (but obviously did not sign). Wow, I knew the Cubs drafts were bad, but I didn't realize just how bad. http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/CHC/draft.shtml Not one productive hitter has been drafted by the Cubs since Mark Grace (Patterson is the closest thing).
  5. Willis, Maddux, Garland
  6. I really hope Soto is our 2008 Opening Day starting catcher.
  7. Horrible.
  8. I'll take Jamal Lewis
  9. I'll take WR, Reggie Brown, Eagles.
  10. I agree with Vance on the yardage as well. It makes TDs way too important. I'd go with 10 and 25. While were on the subject of scoring, how about only 4 points for a passing TD. It's becoming more and more common and it's actually Yahoo's default setting now. The reasoning is obvious. QBs throw for more TDs than WR catch TDs or RBs run for TDs (unless you are LT).
  11. Yeah...a lot of that was based on LJ holding out. His hold out will actually benefit him as he won't be taking much of a beating in the preseason. They are both going to have outstanding years and you can't go wrong with either.
  12. I'll take Vince Young, QB, Titans
  13. Well depending on what you consider "early rounds", I don't necessarily agree. I'd think about drafting the Bears or Ravens D in the 5th or 6th round in a 12 team league. The Ravens had the best D last year based on Yahoo's default scoring system. The Bears weren't too far behind, but the 3rd best was like 30 or 40 points behind the Bears. That's a HUGE margin. Why draft a WR or QB in the 5th/6th who will only get you 10-15 points more than the next tier of WR/QB when you can get the Bears or Ravens, who will score you 30-40 points more than the next best defenses. The Bears are also returning just about their entire defense (I believe 10 of 11 starters) so you know they are gonna be just as dominant. Most years, teams change so much and defenses can vary so much from year to year, so typically drafting Ds early is a bad idea. But this year, I'm all about jumping on the Bears in the 5th or 6th round. If your league isn't smart, it could set off a rippling effect as well. You could see the Ravens, Chargers, Pats, etc...start to go in the following rounds and then you can pick up decent options to fill out your team.
  14. Way more than 40-50% have left. I'd say it's closer to 80 or even 90. It's very empty there.
  15. Who's up? (Too lazy to look for myself)
  16. So how is fleaflicker? Better/worse than yahoo? The option to set keepers seems nice.
  17. I'll set up the league tomorrow, but we'll still have to get everyone to join, and you know how long that takes. Alright, thanks. I think everyone should post their rosters. Might make it easier for IMB to add in the players that way.
  18. Would it be possible for the commish to start up the league on yahoo and input the rosters to this point. Then we can see who's available when we make our picks. We can then add the player to our team once we pick him on here. That's the way I'm doing it in one of my keeper leagues, and it's making it much easier to know who's available and nobody has to try to keep up with updating it.
  19. 4th and Goal QB-Vince Young RB-Ronnie Brown RB-Rudi Johnson WR-Roy Williams WR-Andre Johnson RB/WR-Travis Henry TE-Todd Heap K- DEF-Bears Bench-Reggie Brown (WR) Bench-Jamal Lewis (RB) Bench-Ben Roethlisberger (QB)
  20. I'll take the Bears Defense.
  21. Agree Your 24 hours in my football league is almost up, Roast. lol
