  1. So I guess Wolf is on the clock. Copied and posted from other thread: 1. Wolf 2. Burnt 3. Tobias 4. ChiCubs 5. IMB! 6. Raw 7. Outshined 8. Vance 9. Roast 10. TT Someone wanna start up a draft thread?
  2. Yeah, let's get this going. Worst case scenario...we get as much done as possible before week 1 (at least enough to draft all the starters) and then continue drafting into the season. Hopefully we can finish on time and won't have to do that, but as long as we get all the starters drafted, it'll be okay.
  3. Well we better get this draft started then....
  4. I don't think consistency makes sense though.
  5. correlation =/= causation Did I say it does?
  6. Look at how much more often the white flag has been hoisted since the tirade to find the correlation you so desperately desire.
  7. Carlos Zambrano, Mark Prior, Matt Clement, and...I believe Shawn Estes/Juan Cruz? That team really wasn't that good. Their pitching carried them and Alou, Sosa, and A-Ram carried the offense. The 2004 team was much better. That was probably the most talented Cubs team assembled in a very long time. Patterson, Alou, Sosa, Nomar (at least at the deadline), A-Ram, Lee, Walker/Grudz, Barrett. I mean, jeez, A-Ram was our 6 hitter and Barrett our 8th hitter. We had Z, Prior, Wood, Clement, and Maddux. Signed KENT to bolster the bullpen. That team had so much freakin talent. It's unbelievable to me how they didn't win 100+ games and the World Series.
  8. Yessss, because more of Dempster in non-save situations would be awesome.
  9. Murton with a leadoff homer. Unless Cliff PHs then pop out.
  10. Huh? That makes no sense. Marmol should CLOSE games over Dempster, because he pitches better in NON-SAVE situations?
  11. Doesn't really matter if Rollins is on second or third, single still scores him. Was ball 4 as really a strike like gameday shows it as? I think ball 3 was closer than 4. They were both verrrrry close. I figured Demp would get the call on ball 4 since he didnt give it to him on 3 and he's given the Phillies quite a few close pitches that were probably just out of the strike zone.
  12. he hasn't thrown one guy out, has he? I don't think he's even gotten the ball to the bag once yet. Call a freakin borderline strike for us too!
  13. Calm down. We still got a chance. I would have left A-Ram in the game.
  14. Yeah...not 10 inches, but it was clearly not a strike.
  15. Interesting move. I love how Lou has the balls to do stuff like this. Dusty just sat on his hands.
  16. Are you my stepdad? He just came into my room about 15 minutes ago to tell me about that guy and ask if I notice him too.
  17. Not really...the bullpen has been solid without him. Dempster, Marmol, Wuertz, Howry, Ohman, and Wood. Don't need Eyre too much. It would help, but definitely no desperation. I'd prefer to see Murton step up his play.
  18. I don't think it's impossible that Eyre becomes a somewhat useful pitcher the final two months. I don't want to see him late in games, but he hasn't given up a run since June 30th. He hasn't pitched much in that time, but he's actually done a decent job in mopup duty.
