  1. Maybe the plan is to extend this inning until the storm rolls in.
  2. C- 3/10 Oh come on, its getting rave reviews around my office. It definitely gets creativity points, but Conon The Rally Killer is more to the point.
  3. And meanwhile Micah Hoffpauir is up to his ears in corn.
  4. lack of producion is one thing. Counterproduction is what Lee brings to the table.
  5. Fukudome Theriot Ramirez Edmonds Soto DeRosa Patterson Pitcher Lee Im just saying, its worth a try.
  6. If all of the minorleaguers who came to the majors and had red hot starts for us over the past few years kept it up...
  7. really? the first place, best record in baseball 2008 cubs remind you of the 96-loss 2006 cubs? sorry, dudes, but it is really, really hard to stomach these threads. try enjoying the season a bit. He's just saying he gets a weird feeling right now. Haven't you ever gotten a creepy feeling in real life where you feel like something is wrong even though nothing is? You people are weird. sounds like free floating anxiety. A few things have gone wrong, so naturally, everything else will.
  8. Im all for pesamism when the time calls for it, but does anyone else realise that were only down by 1 run, and Jose Contreres is on the mound?
  9. Listening to the radio it sounded like JE tweaked his ankle crossing the 1st base bag. The trainer came out but Edmonds stayed in the game. I dont think I could handle another major injury. Actually he tripped coming out of the box. looks like after he swung and tried to take his first step he landed wrong and did something to his ankle/calf/lower leg. Is he still in the game? Yes Sounds like nothing to worry about then. If a guy with Jimmys injury history were hurting at all, Lou would pull him as a precaution.
  10. why? Right now the only Sox player Id take over a Cubs is Quentin in left, and when Spitter returns, even that changes.

  12. Well, were not going to get shut out, so Demp just needs to keep em at bay.

  14. Now lets get some base runners without the double play king coming to the plate.
  15. Actually, this series is part of that 10-game road trip. After this series they will have 7 games on the road. Was it over when the German bombed Pearl Harbor?! When did the Germans bomb Pearl Harbor, and what did that have to with?
  16. Leon is getting larger Doesnt look like it has any intention of missing Chicago.
  17. I have a pretty good feeling about this series, but then again, I had a bad feeling about the last Sox series and a great feeling about the O's series. At least the worst case scenerio is we go into a 4 game set with The Giants 1.5 games in first.
  18. Cubs enter the bottom of the 9th up 8-4. Bob Howry loads the bases with 1 out, and gives up 1 run and Woody comes in and a double play gets him out of it. Dont ask me why, but thats how its going to play out.
  19. In '04, I was sure that Nomar was that guy. Of course we all know how that turned out.
  20. You cant deny that The Cards have gotten lucky with pitching. Carpenter and Mulder may or may not pitvh thuis season. Wainwright is on the DL, yet they still keep getting quality starts from 2 former relievers, a rookie, and a guy who nobody else wanted during the offseason. As for the offense, its doing pretty much whats expected, aside from Ludwick, who even seems to be cooling down a bit. Pujols is Pujols. Glaus is Glaus. Ankiel is doing whats expected from him low average with some home runs. Yadier Molinas doing well for himself, but nothing out of the ordinary. Miles, Kennedy, and Ryan are a bunch of gritty white guys.
  21. OK Twinkies, you take care of the Brewers, we'll take care of the White Sox. deal?
  22. Right before you posted this, Murph was hinting on his show that Ward was playing right today and Fukudome is DHing, with DeRo sitting out, that's what I meant. btw - I hate Murph, just happened to have his show on when I heard it. Hopefully they'll let Ward patrol the oufield via segway.
  23. I think you hit the nail right on the head, and in the right order too. I'm really not sure who is out there though for #s 2 and 3 #2-Come the deadline, once a few teams realise their out of it, we'll be beating teams off with a stick who are trying to pawn off excess righties. #3-How about Damaso Marte? The Pirtes wont be going anywhere. It's just too bad that the rest of the NL West wont let the Dodgers fall out of contetnion, because Joe Beimal would be a great addition.
