  1. Sure looks like we'll be relying on 2nd half Jason Marquis to avoid a sweep. Suuuuuuuper.
  2. ho hum, another mediocre at best pitcher making the Cubs look like garbage.
  3. Personally, I think that Zambrano should be before Fukudome and Cedeno, but we'll see.
  4. The Cards and Brewers are both on the verge of beating AAA teams, so hopefully we can pull this one out.
  5. Wow that's quite amazing that we get a 3 gamer vs. AZ and not face Haren or Webb. I bet Brewers/Cardinals fans are bitching that we play Arizona 6 times this year and faced Haren once and Webb 0 times. We had Haren and we beat him. It was at the beginnig of Sorianos hot streak,
  6. We need to win these next 2, especialy with the fact that neither the Brewers or Cards are going to lose again until they play eachother. Also, it would be a nice way to start a little streak, as we will be entering a 3 game set against a majorly de-fanged D-Backs team, and will be missing Haren and Webb. Sure, we'll be facing Randy Johnson, but it's not the same guy who bent over The Cubs and made them dress like Little Bo Peep for the better part of 2 decades.
  7. Funny how Wuertz gives up a run or 2 on 3 months rest and its back to Iowa for him, yet Howry can seemingly give up a run every time he pitches, yet Lou always gos back to him.
  8. 1 run on 4 hits does not exactly my fit my description of a "raping". I know, you meant historically, but should have known we'd get shut down or shut ourselves down tonight against a guy we should have blasted all night long - (making assumptions, as didn't see a single minute of the game, only listened to the b9th on the way home). Tonights piss poor effort was more like hitting on someone who clearly isnt interested than rape.
  9. Maybe hes just more Matsui than Ichiro. Kaz that is.
  10. Neifi Perez, the MVP of Dustys Towing Co.
  11. i keep telling you people, retro-causality May as well have just let that nice gentleman with the smelly old goat come in and enjoy the game.
  12. I still dont think that not letting some mad man bring his goat into the ball park warranted more of a curse than throwing a world series, but I guess thats the baseball gods decision and not mine.
  13. I've heard the White Sox are interested. If they land him and Duchscherer can stay hot then watch out. I've got to think that landing Duchscherer would require a lot of talent at this point though. The White Sox don't have the prospects to land Duchscherer. The Brewers sure do, and we really dont want that happening. The question is, will they be willing to move another prospect package. Duke would actually make perfectl sense for them, with CC and Sheets likely gone next year, hes still under team control for another few years.
  14. Moehler makes it 3 innings. Lilly makes it 5. Gaudin, Howry, and Marmol slam the door. Cubs win 9-4.
  15. This thread sure exploded in the half hour since I went to lunch.
  16. Cards better watch out Brewers are gonna cry those other 3 teams dont count Im telling you why Sorianos coming to town he'll hit a bunch of homers he'll steal a base or too he'll hit a bunch more homers he'll drop a routine fly ball too you better watch out you better not cry he'll knock one of Gagnes meatballs way into the sky Sorianos coming to town
  17. Going from most sensible to least sensible reliever to be sent down or DFAd Hart Lieber Marshall Cotts So I guess it means Cotts will be sent down. Always happy to see Hoff come back, although I hope he doesnt bother unpacking his suitcase. No way I'd send Marshall down before Cotts, he's simply better. Liebs can't be sent down, I don't see Hendry DFA'ing him at all (although he should if Lou isn't going to use him). With Marshall, it depends if they want him as a reliever, or if they want to keep him stretched out as a starter in Iowa when...I mean if Marquis has his colapse. As for Lieber, I wouldnt be surprised if some team in desperate need for pitching would want him.

  19. I can't see them adding Dubois to the 40 man roster just for one week when they can bring up Hoffpauir instead. Why so many lefties? Besides, the Harden trade left an extra opening on the 40 man, and if Dubois keeps doing what hes doing in Iowa, he'll definitely be a September call up anyway. Also, if it comes down do it, there are several other who can be removed from the 40 man.
  20. Anyone know when the rehab stint begins? If he plans on being back with the big league team on the 24th, its got to be any day now.
  21. FA. San Fran gave him some obscene contract thinking that he was going to be the answer to their awful team.
  22. It will be Hart down, Dubois up. We have 2 solid lefties on the bench, and Cedeno and Blanco are the only righties. Of course whoever does come up, will be enjoying about a week long stay until Soriano returns. Cotts deserves to stay up as long as hes doing what hes doing. I say when the time comes for Eyre to come back, either send Marshall to Iowa, just so he can keep up his routine as a starter, and trade or DFA Lieber, and if Marquis does his normal second half collapse, Marshall will be right there waiting.
  23. Its Brewers.com. What are they supposed to say? "Despite the fact that we traded our top prospect for a guy who will be pitching somewhere in California next season, and Sheets will be skipping town too, leaving us to rebuild our rotation from the ground up, we're still going to miss the playoffs". Thats not a very fearless prediction.
