Soriano will lead off when he comes back. Lou likes him at the top of the lineup, and he likes being there. We all know that Soriano likes it there, and Lou likes him there. The question is, is it the best thing for the team. A good leadoff hitter should be a guy who takes walks and slaps singles. I know the whole cliche about the leadoff hiter may only leadoff in the first inning, but when you have a guy capable of what Soriano is, he should be at the plate with a few guys on. I agree with you, and in a perfect world he'd be there. But, I'm sure there will be no shortage of people here soon trotting out Soriano's career stats when not batting leadoff, and they're not very good. It's a total mental thing with him. If he's not at the top of the order, he sucks. too bad. Theriot DeRosa(vs RHP)/Johnson(vs. LHP) Lee/Soriano Ramirez Soriano/Lee Soto Edmonds(vs RHP)/DeRosa(vs LHP) Fukuome looks so pretty on paper, doesnt it.
