  1. I'd be lying if I said the crack of that one didn't induce an immediate erection.
  2. When your no-hitter is broken up by David Ross.
  3. We must now acquire Starlen Castro and Carrie Wood.
  4. I'm sure Goose Gossage has thoughts. In my day, we had to walk through frigid conditions over burning hot coals to get to our locker; if we were lucky enough to have a locker. And if we did, it was full of snakes and scorpions. That is unless they were eaten by sharks, in which case they were filled with sharks. Did I mention that our lockers were in the ocean, because they were.
  5. So they have money for that but they don't have money to field a decent... Sorry, force of habit.
  6. I'm going with Pierce Johnson. Still, some pretty nice options for #13.
  7. The top of our lineup will be some combination of Fowler/Heyward/Rizzo/Bryant/Zobrist. The bottom will be some combination of Montero/Soler/Russell/Baez.
  8. If by annoying you mean hilarious, then yes. If such people existed,' they'd be a little of both.
  9. I figure we can just put Szczur in left in hopes of him going all Tyler Colvin for a few weeks, and let Baez take over before Szczur goes all Tyler Colvin the rest of the way.
  10. http://www.bleachernation.com/2016/04/08/let-munenori-kawasaki-and-his-feelings-on-ghosts-lighten-your-morning/ It's funny 'cause his English isn't the best.
  11. It's like the love child of Jason Marquis and Brian Schlitter had a love child with Hitler.
  12. Personally, I was having visions of Mike Cameron and Carlos Beltran as the two collided.
  13. Matt Garza Out At Least Four To Six Weeks With Lat Strain https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/04/matt-garza-dl-shoulder-injury-brewers.html Because Matt Garza.
  14. Great game that was. But I feel as though I'm not yet conditioned for these west coast road trip shenanigans.
  15. It's very possible that Victorino signed on as an unofficial mentor/coach to guys like Almora and McKinney, depending on where they end up, in exchange for a September call up and an invite to the grandest ticker tape parade ever. If you're a veteran like Victorino who's goal is to come in to spring training and win a big league job, you're not going to pick a team with a glut of talent at your position.
  16. I'm not sure I'd call him defensive minded, but last I checked, Chris Denorfia's a free agent. Maybe offer him an MiLB deal? He had his moments.
  17. Well damn...feeling kinda crummy for Cogs now. Apparently I've grown a sentimental attraction and was just thinking again about how [expletive] Coghlan must feel. And then I see this. To go to the A's on top of it all...Yeesh. "Guys...hey guys- oh, hey Dex, what are you doing here? Guys, has anyone seen my...oh."
  18. I'm thinking that it wasn't so much about a return as Jed thinking out loud "now how to move Coghlan and move him quick," and Billy Bean kind of emerged from a potted plant.
  19. Fowler (S) Zobrist (S) Rizzo (L) Bryant ® Heyward (L) Schwarber (L) /Soler ® Montero (L) Russell ® If you're a right handed NL pitcher, it might be time so start looking for work elsewhere.
  20. That's a pretty money no-risk pickup for a fringey at best team in a fringey at best division. Granted, Rollins is 37 and mostly dead (though I didn't realize he had a 4.0 WAR in 2014,) but he could have a bit of lightning left ala Jim Edmonds. So good for them and their duct taped together ballclub.
  21. This is the kind of move I'd have been quite excited about when we were bad and needed things to get excited about.
  22. Athletics Acquire Khris Davis, Designate Sean Nolin https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/02/athletics-acquire-khris-davis-designate-sean-nolin.html I don't get why they're not aggressively shopping Braun. Warts and all, he put together a 3.8 WAR last year, and it was all with the bat (0.8dWAR). And at 32, he should be able to put together another 3-4 more like it, especially if primarily DHing where he can avoid those nagging injuries. If the Brewers are willing to eat most of his contract, I could see the Blue Jays, Orioles, Mariners, Angels, Tigers, and Red Sox (assuming Papi plans on hanging it up after the season,) offering up substantial prospect packages. And if not picking up much salary, there's the A's, Astros, and Rays.
  23. The White Sox seem to be trying to tape together the kind of Franken-team that won a championship 10 years ago (wow, has it really been that long) and quickly burst into mediocrity.
