  1. And we're under a week til the deadline. http://brolists.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Zoolander-Quotes.png
  2. Can we all just agree that Aroldis is a very bad man but a very good pitcher and leave it at that? Because this is going to turn real ugly real quick.
  3. yep I don't think there's anybody who feels that he doesn't deserve criticism or even disdain.
  4. Giving them Happ for Shelby Miller would be foolish on our part. Giving them Happ, Duane Underwood, and Tommy LaStella would be (almost) reversing the deal they made in the first place.
  5. There's a big difference between this and the Castro thing. Castro's was a matter of an alleged rape. The question was did it happen or was it somebody trying to cash in (I'm not taking either side, just stating the argument.) Chapman's is we know that he committed this atrocious act; do we root for him anyway?
  6. You're probably right. I mean he's been very good this season, but his 1st two games as a Cub haven't gone very well, so we should just keep Clayton Richard instead. At least we know he's awful, so we won't be let down. Not thinking Richard. How many will we have in the pen for the playoffs? 7? Right now: Chapman Rondon Strop Grimm Edwards Wood Remaining: Richard Nathan Montgomery Cahill Ah, playoff roster. I see. In that case, Chapman, Rondon, and Strop are the only sure things. Beyond that, it's a tough call. But one thing that could earn Wood a spot over Montgomery is that fact that he doubles as a solid bat off the bench.
  7. I like that comparison a lot, actually. well, sure, it's convenient. Deciding to watch Annie Hall on Netflix is different than walking around in a Woody Allen is Awesome t-shirt. No, but I've seen an awful lot of John Lennon t-shirts.
  8. You're probably right. I mean he's been very good this season, but his 1st two games as a Cub haven't gone very well, so we should just keep Clayton Richard instead. At least we know he's awful, so we won't be let down.
  9. Joe wouldn't have pitched him either. He's going to lose us a playoff series pulling this [expletive]. In a playoff series he might and if he doesn't Rondon or Strop is almost certainly in. #TrickleDownBullpenOmics Seeing as the inning started with a lefty, and a bad one at that, nobody can blame Maddon for having Montgomery start the inning off. But once he got on, that should have been it for him.
  10. With 1 out, a guy on 2nd, a righty at the plate and a lefty on deck, he probably should have walked the righty.
  11. That would be because at home, we usually have more runs than our opponent by the middle of the 9th and you can't win via walkoff on the road.
  12. If nothing else, that made me appreciate our latest acquisition that much more.
  13. Time to do that thing where we don't get shut out by the card carrying journeyman 5/6 starter.
  14. FWIW, MLB.com wasted no time slotting Torres and McKinney as the Yankees' new 1 and 4 prospects.
  15. Statistically speaking, you'd probably have to ask T. Tiger or something. But Wood/Nathan/Grimm/Montgomery/Edwards/Strop/Rondon/Chapman sure looks pretty on paper.
  16. Look, the man said he was sorry, ok? So he got a bit frustrated, and took it out on his girlfriend's garage with an assault rifle, but I mean who here hasn't done that about a zillion times?
  17. I don't love the idea of giving up an elite prospect for an elite rental, but I love that we're in position to do so and remain in position to do so for the foreseeable future.
  18. Not as bad as his Grandmother [tweet] [/tweet]
  19. oh what the hell you [expletive] weirdo Says the dude who gets up in arms over a post on a message board. But that's all I'm going to say about that.
  20. even with the rumored 4/60 extension? I don't like the idea of trading our top prospect for a rental. But I do get the feeling that there are going to be some more players going back and forth. Just looking over today's minor league games, EJM didn't play in SB's game this afternoon. And while everyone needs a day off here and there, they didn't play yesterday, so there's a possibility.
  21. Chris Sale shredded an entire roster's worth of uniforms, without thinking twice about the 5-7 year old kids who were paid 2 cents an hour to make them, but that wouldn't stop me from cheering him on.
  22. [tweet]Gleyber Torres scratched.... oh man. #Cubs[/tweet] Dun dun dunnnn?
