  1. That was the most insane, certainly the most improbable game, like ever.
  2. Hendricks pitches the rest of the night, and the extra day for everybody is scrapped Put a fake mustache on Wood or Nathan and hope the Mariners and Umps are too tired to notice.
  3. Exactly Because we need to get another 3 months of use out of him.
  4. Apparently, he doesn't like 4 out saves. Not sure how he feels about 6 out wins.
  5. So why is this dude their closer when that other guy is virtually untouchable?
  6. You can't figure out why they were hoping to get the staff some extra rest? And also figure out if they had no back-up option, or if they had this guy in Iowa that maybe sorta could fill in if need be. The timing of the start makes me wonder if it's this exactly, and that it would be a factor as to how hard they're going to push for one over the next 12 hours or so. Because the cupboard really is bare in the SP depth department.
  7. Do you think that your 2010-2014 self ever imagined he'd be typing that sentence, let alone as a complaint?
  8. That was a fun experiment. Hopefully that's the end of it.
  9. Lucroy would sure be nice, but I won't be heartbroken if it doesn't happen. What I would very much like is a young front end SP who's under control for a few more years. But then again, who wouldn't?
  10. It feels like the fifth or sixth time in two weeks they have tied or taken a lead with two outs in the 8th or later. I was thinking the same thing. It feels as though they've been unbeatable since the ASB, but that's probably because they had a 5 game win streak, 4 of which were at home vs. the Padres, and since then are 4-5, as they were just walked off upon as I type this.
  11. Damn, I didn't realize that compared to Keuchel, Arrieta's had himself a dream season.
  12. No. I remember being upset that the Delgado thing fell through, then there was the whole he'd only accept a trade to the Dodgers so they had all the leverage and we'd end up being screwed, then I remember being relieved when we ended up with a the kind of package that we'd expected to get before Delgadogate happened; a back end of the top 100 prospect (Villanueva) and maybe another piece (Hendricks.)
  13. OF Charlie Tilson is the return. A New Trier kid.
  14. I kind of see where he's coming from. If traded to someone like the Mets or Cubs, he's more likely to have that option ripped up in favor of a fat extension than he would be with the Indians, and he'd prefer that sooner than later in case his clod of a wife smashes his hand with another suitcase.
  15. Actually a pretty smart set of moves by the Yankees. They're far enough from contention that they couldn't pass up the opportunity to cash in on two top shelf relievers, yet close enough that it made sense to replace them with a reliable, reasonably priced option.
  16. DBacks have a completely traditional (or, as they call it, 'real') approach to baseball. They liked Castillo so much cause his fastballs are fast. Makes me kinda wish we had a Junior Lake in the org, a raw but athletic AAA guy is exactly what they'd want for Miller at this point. As it is I see them asking for one of Eloy, Cease, EJM, or De La Cruz (in suspected order of preference). One might be able to sell them on Underwood and a rookie-league type tho, since Underwood's pitches are generally well-respected. I may be ignoring a Theo tax - was it Towers or Stewart who was afraid to deal with Theo? Candelerio, one of Tseng/Underwood/Johnson, one of Sands/Steele/Paulino/Clifton/Twomey/Hudson/Kellogg.. basically, any non Cease/De La Cruz/Moreno A/A+ pitcher. More than he's worth, but I'd be ok with letting them save face in hopes that Bosio can fix him.
  17. The only thing that could make it worse is if one of them blew out their elbow. Oh, wait.
  18. De La Cruizing through 4 with 0/6 BB/K, 2 H, 0 R
