  1. His welcome to the big leagues will be a most discourteous one.
  2. If anyone gets plunked, we send special assistant Ted Lilly to finish off Molina.
  3. Is it me, or since the ASB have we had more walk offs on non-hits than, like, ever?
  4. Probably around the same time that a lot of folks would've given up really good prospects to acquire him, many of whom are or were sitting in an office at various big league headquarters.
  5. I suppose that there could be worse 6-8 starters than Cahill, Collmenter, and Matusz. Could be better, but there could be worse.
  6. I enjoy Tommy LaStella for what he is, but he's no Curt Flood. He's a utility infielder who has yet to stay healthy for more than a few months at a time. He's better than Coghlan, but that's like being a better band than Nickeback. And with roster expansion around the corner, he's having a tantrum over 3 weeks in Iowa.
  7. Rosenthal and Heyman both tweeted that Fielder is being declared 'medically disabled' and unable to play as opposed to retirement, so that's why he's still going to get paid. Half his remaining money is apparently being covered by insurance, so the Rangers aren't being completely left up a creek. I think the Tigers are responsible for paying some of his contract too. Per BBR, he's owed $24mm/year between 2016-2020, and the Tigers pick up $6mm/year. So technically, they're getting 3 more years of Ian Kinsler for $55, where the Rangers end up with:
  8. The contract turned out pretty good for the guys who gave it to him. Just not the Rangers.
  9. Kind of lost track of Concepcion following his brief cup of coffee. Apparently, he's turned back into cat poop.
  10. 1 pick after Aaron Heilman, who was supposed to bring us Peavy. I think.
  11. Who the fudgecicle is Lane Adams?
  12. I don't believe any of this makes sense even in your own head. You never were very bright. paraphrasing: "It's idiotic to even suggest trying Colvin at 1st base" How did that "gem" work out for you..? "Soriano would be a better choice to try that with" :good: I try not to get involved in these types of things, and I know that Mojo has a tendency of fanning the flames; but it sounds like you're referencing an in-game debate that the two of you had 5-7 years ago. And that's kind of weird.
  13. Remove the second sentence, and he sounds like a gold digging trollop.
  14. Do you think that Soler's beginning to realize that he's rehab assignment has become more than just that?
  15. Some dude named Scott Schebler just walked off on the Cards.
  16. Why is that? Could have been bothered by a mild injury and they opted to send him to Iowa rather than the DL so they could call him back in 10 days instead of 15, which would matter if they'd been working a trade for Baez that never happened.
  17. The Indians package was probably better. Frazier seems to rank higher than Torres. While he's closer to big league ready, Torres is likely the better overall asset. Sheffield is better than McKinney, at least going by 2016, but who knows. I really don't know much about the other 2 in the Yankees package, other than that they're a 23 and 24 year old AA and AAA relievers with solid numbers. Crawford was fairly well regarded, but so are/were a lot of low level prospects. And Adam Warren's Adam Warren. So I guess that it's hard to gauge which haul was better. But what's more important is that Miller came with an extra season. That doesn't mean that we got shafted, it means that we paid a premium to buy before the market had fully formed.
  18. 2016 Trade Deadline Summary: Rangers bulked up. Yankees and Brewers bulked up their farm systems. That is all.
  19. Sorry, no non-threatening rap star turned sitcom star turned Hollywood It Boy. Just a former NBA big man. Are you Rex Reed's stupid kid or something? You enjoy insulting people on the Internet.
  20. Sorry, no non-threatening rap star turned sitcom star turned Hollywood It Boy. Just a former NBA big man.
  21. The aram game vs the brewers in 07 was a 5 run comeback. Seems in most years good teams have a kick ass comeback I knew I was forgetting one, good call. What about the one when some goof fan charged Bob Howry after giving up a big lead in the 9th, then we came right back and won on a Soriano bomb (to you young people, that's what we called them before they became dongs.) I think it was in '07, also vs. the Rockies.
  22. I was all set to go to bed after 9, but those lousy, no good Mariner's had to turn our fake rally into a real one, and now I'll never get to sleep.
  23. Like Baker and Piniella before him... No, not at all like Baker and Piniella before him.
  24. What about the one who used to post those creepy videos? Does that guy still exist? Someone has to remember who I'm talking about.
  25. When you question the wisdom of Joe Maddon, you always get the same answer: stop questioning the wisdom of Joe Maddon.
