  1. People who would otherwise spend money to attend games at Wrigley are siphoned off into the rooftops. It's a parasite. They have fought any and all types of upgrades to Wrigley, including bleacher expansion, because their only way of remaining an ongoing enterprise is by maintaining the status quo in Wrigley Field.
  2. Youre probably right here. The new incarnation of the rooftops doesnt add charm, whereas the prior I think probably did. So when they were infringing on the cubs property they were adding a bit of charm and since the agreement they are providing the consideration to do what they are doing. So basically im not gonna fault them for advocating for their businesses and trying to enforce their contract. You're for the bribing of politicians and against the Cubs?
  3. The revenue would be meaningful and the asthetic is meaningless if you can't produce the team to be good enough.
  4. They are leaches who profit off of the Cubs and bribe politicians to make life harder on the Cubs than it should be. They devalue the team. It's also a god awful way to watch a game.
  5. Not sure the Jackson percentage, but Rizzo has struck out over a third of his AB's. Jackson has been around 35-40% of his PA, I believe.
  6. Seriously. I'm freaking lost. Pat and Moreland went on for like 2 innings about the Adam West Batman show and which actors played which characters. I know, and I was freaking lost during their entire conversation. I'm listening in the background so don't hear every word, but every one I heard was about some old actor.
  7. Theoretically important at least.
  8. That is not a defense. If a sucky player has a sucky stretch of play, pointing out he sucks is not negated by a small sample size. If he was good and went 1-20 it would be a different situation. If he was bad and went 10-20 he'd still be bad.
  9. Not surprising, but that's an odd bit of nitpicking, to say they are doing it for the Cubs, not the rooftops. Of course the only reason anything is being agreed upon is first and foremost, because of the Cubs. They want to be able to maximize what they have to work with. That's the entire point of this discussion.
  10. I'm not trying to be a smartass, but are you surprised by this? I had much better luck last year. I was selling mine at face value almost every game up until about July. This year has been really bad so far. There was some excitement at the beginning of last year that the new regime had a few tricks up their collective sleeve to make the team competent. But they've been really bad for really long and not many people care to see that one a day-to-day basis.
  11. I have nights and weekends. I went to Opening Day and sold Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday at 1/2-3/4 market value. You mean face value.
  12. Well yes, but my point is that it's clearly temporary. If Lillibridge gets frequent playing time after next week, I'll be more than happy to eat my words and join the rant. It is clearly temporary but his presence on the 40 and 25 man rosters is not clearly temporary, and probably shouldn't have ever happened in the first place.
  13. We have...I have...plenty in the game threads. Just seems a bit silly to start a thread to rip a guy that is either going to be DFA'd or buried at the bottom of the bench in a few days, and who has no long term ramifications for the team whatsoever. But whatever...carry on. There's been like 2 conversations on this board since opening day. I don't see the point in discouraging posts from occurring. Exactly. Crap, Bane, can't we just have a little fun? We had entire threads devoted to Macias and Perez back in the day. Well yeah, but they were starting, or at least frequently used guys. I'm not shutting down the thread or anything. Just seems a bit silly is all. Lillibridge has been all too frequently used even if the season has just begun.

  15. This Romo is a lot more accurate thrower than the other Romo.
  16. You got to be there in the first place to to that, and it sounds like there's a large percentage of Giants fans anyway.
