  1. Theoretically it affects nothing, except if you have a baseball operations budget.
  2. The cubs tanked. Ross was nothing special, but they didn’t try to win that season. Residual productivity and weak competition kept them in the race, but they were cutting corners and bailing on the present.
  3. Dude lost his wife and high paying gig in the covid era, the feds might wanna keep tabs on him this coming January 6
  4. I would not trade down. I’d take two best players available and try to build an all around solid team then keep taking swings at QB.
  5. Some things that make you go hmmm This is the Bears only home game in November. The Bears and Panthers are a combined 3-14 and their losing ways are likely to continue as both teams missed the apparent gem of the 2023 draft class. The Bears are 3 point favorites, which seems like something they should cover, but they are not a reliable favorite. Gardner Minshew beat the Panthers by two touchdowns, but those 14 points were scored by the defense and the Colts only threw for 127 yards. Bagent could probably dink and dunk to a win, and shouldn’t have to throw a ton in comeback style. The defense needs to step up and not allow Young to pick them apart. Could be a grand time for Sweat to introduce himself to the home crowd, because after this week they likely don’t have a win on the schedule until Christmas Eve.
  6. And most of fields career has been spent with zero weapons and no line.
  7. And Young with another bad TaINT
  8. Why are we pretending 17 points is an accomplishment? Fields has a much better resume. It’s not just 3 games vs 3 years. Fields has done more in his life. Not the least of which was surviving last season when his GM openly set him up to fail.
  9. Cardinals look to have a pretty solid grasp on number 1 pick. The giants are going to be right there along with the Patriots. Tampa and Tennessee could also muddy the waters at the top. the Bears pick could definitely slide closer to 10 by end of season. Gonna be devastated when Poles trades up
  10. Totally missed a wide open receiver in end zone from ~10 yards away
  11. Getting flashbacks to my college years, with the lousy giants / raiders game as only afternoon matchup on tv locally. They seemingly did a good job of not making the ny market sit through these awful late afternoon games
  12. Young just threw another ugly TaINT, we cannot lament him not being a bear
  13. He’s definitely nfl backup capable and would he fine running a team like the eagles or the 2000s patriots.
  14. It’s very Chicago of you to complain about fields after BagINT throwing away the game
  15. At least I have New Orleans defense in 3 leagues
  16. Driving back from hockey tournament, sounds like Bagent and mooney are having a game and defense is doing nothing. Is sweat playing?
  17. That’s one way to get up to the minimum. if you’re willing to throw around those kinds of guarantees, why are you trading draft picks in a losing season and why weren’t you signing impact free agents the past two years?
  18. People who keep blaming past regimes failures are going to do the same nonsense for whoever replaces Poles. He’s been a disaster and I cannot imagine how anybody thinks he’s the guy to get this team out of the dumps. he made a mediocre team much worse.
  19. The bigger issue is the player isn’t close to being worth the franchise designation. but I guess when you don’t spend money anywhere else it’s overpaying doesn’t matter
  20. There’s no such thing as a 3 year plan
  21. Plenty of people think he will be here. But he doesn’t deserve to be here and there isn’t a reasonable argument out there on the other side. He’s done a terrible job and you can rest assured thay if and when he is replaced, some people will give the next guy all the excuses about the barren roster that guy inherited.
  22. That is because you clearly do not understand the concept of value.
  23. The best players on the team were acquired by the previous regime. Poles had an opportunity to improve the team and he both chose not to and then failed to do so. This awful roster is Poles’ fault, not Ryan Pace. You cannot absolve Poles of making a bad value trade because he was forced into it by his own bad management decisions.
