Nothing was worse than last year IMO. We were just as bad, but Castro and Rizzo looked awful and we didn't have Baez and friends to look forward to. But we aren't living through last year now, so this is worse.

It's a third round pick, not much an impact. They need impact wherever they can get it. That already addressed your positions of concern and limiting yourself to only a couple positions in the draft is dumb.

I believe he could handle that, maybe even sooner. But the organization will want to leave open the option of keeping him down through May of next year, or whatever date it is, to extend their control over his prime years. -

Similarly, the front office likes losing as many games as possible, so in Renteria's mind bunting is just helping the organization reach its goals quicker.

A) That is not necessarily more realistic. B) That is not necessarily the point of this exercise. -
I would argue that on a team with a manager that has been so bunt happy, it is only natural that players would be interested in bunting on their own regularly. If you create a bunting culture you can't be surprised when your citizens bunt.
