  1. Team loses starting QB for the year in the third preseason game. It'd be a story no matter what team and what QB. Yeah, not sure what else you would expect.
  2. How many millions did he get in his bonus? $3.9m, which is enough to give him the opportunity to move on from his high school girlfriend and not enough to keep her locked down in perpetuity.
  3. http://instagram.com/p/sGhkOoyqfI/ What will come first, him ditching her to improve his game or her ditching him for a better player?
  4. Lol. they got that special northern California sensimilia that blends well with a Kentucky blue for maximum golf/bejeezus stoning potential.
  5. but did you talk to laura Charles? DID YOU??????
  6. The pronunciation of Baltimore by Baltimoreans? Baltimoreites? That whole mid-atlantic philly to Baltimore area has a terrible accent that is underplayed in American media.
  7. Balmer is very provincial and has a terrible inferiority complex. If Chicago is the 2nd city, Balmer suffers in the region because it's not DC and not Philly. One person describes it as "it's where you dump your McDonald's trash coming back from a Redskins game'. They hate out of towners, especially Chicagoans, because Bob Irsay was from Chicago and it it tore the heart out of the city when he moved the Colts. They're still mad that 'The Sun' took 'Baltimore' off the masthead because research indicated Balmer was regarded as a small city. And O's fans wanted 'Baltimore' on the road jerseys, not just the 'Orioles'. The team refused. They hate Chicago because Robert Irsay was born there? That's a commitment to hate that I can appreciate.
  8. Not sure when you were there, but that organization had plenty of years where they were at or near the top in attendance (especially post-Camden) and often went neck and neck with the Yankees for top payroll in baseball. They went through a ridiculously bad streak of losing, and losing big, and it hurt their attendance, but they have a legit base of support.
  9. Jay Glazer ‏@JayGlazer · 13m Vikings players were informed this morning that Matt Cassel will be the starting QB in Minnesota over Teddy Bridgewater
  10. and as if the Cubs have something to be rubbing
  11. If you have similar expectations for the short term between Jackson and some alternative, it's probably better to prioritize that alternative if they have more team control. Especially since control also means that they're of an age that is more desirable for short and long term production(Wada excluded). I fail to see how the control aspect of that is meaningful at all. Their age, sure. Maybe they have more upside, but control is meaningless for that discussion.
  12. uhhhhhhh, javy, you don't have to take the fastballs won the middle
  13. or keep him Also an option. Not one I'm particularly fond of with the depth of similar caliber players(many with age/team/control/recent performance on their side) already in the mix for next year, but if Atlanta wants us to pay both contracts or something silly like that, you aren't *forced* to trade him. well, the "control" aspect of those other guys really doesn't matter in the debate about what to do with Jackson.
  14. I was not expecting that to result in an out
  15. left handed bats doing things although I feel like the Cubs have an inordinate number of LH hitters with the complete opposite of the traditional smooth-looking left handed swing.
