  1. Chicago Cubs ‏@Cubs · 2m2 minutes ago #Cubs today claimed C Ryan Lavarnway (@RyanLavarnway) off waivers from #Dodgers & OF Shane Peterson (@speters2) off waivers from #Athletics. Chicago Cubs ‏@Cubs · 1m1 minute ago To make room on the 40-man roster, RHP Donn Roach and INF Logan Watkins were designated for assignment.
  2. trading cutler for a 4th round pick would be insane
  3. He could pick it up in a day, easy. doesn't need a full day
  4. I'd take their second too, with at least one other pick. That's basically your Alex Smith return which has been kind of my minimum - but still want a QB I can trust for 2015. I don't want a QB I can trust. Screw that. No point in trying your best not to be an embarrassment when best case scenario is 8 wins by playing it safe. If you are trading Cutler and taking the cap hit you are throwing away 2015. Any QB you can trust is just going to be a worthless placeholder. Don't trade Cutler. But if you do, don't compound the problem by hanging onto silly hopes for 2015.
  5. given that they are one of the few teams where a deal could make sense, the Vandy thing could be enough of a factor to make a difference - meaning Jay would be more amenable to going there and the Titans could see a chance for a marketing boost. Most NFL markets are going to interpret Cutler as their new QB as a bad thing, or maybe the worst good case scenario. Maybe Tennessee would be more open to embracing him.
  6. Huh? Why wouldn't we? In my nightmares they force Emery and Trestman to play the season with the salary cap hit in a lame duck situation.
  7. He's been wearing Vandy stuff, and returning to Nashville frequently, ever since he became a pro.
  8. I'm not sure how much Trestmans age was a factor, but at least with college coaches you've been around the players who are about becoming the next wave of the NFL. The only comparison to college is if he was a lower division college coach. He was in Canada for a long time and not coaching quality athletes, coaching against elite athletes or even coaching under the same set of rules. It's a different game, and I think that has showed up in how poorly coached this team is in terms of penalties and special teams stupidity. There is no attention to detail.
  9. I'm probably going to fall back in love with Gary Kubiak.
  10. I'm basically treating it with the same suspicion we treated nocode. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I believed nocode from the outset.
  11. Uh, yeah he was. The only non-curvebally thing about him was his name was mentioned as a candidate and Jimmy Johnson said he was hired before he was.
  12. I would live with it but would not think highly of the team's chances.
  13. And every sigma nu started with the pledgemaster's finger in their ass, doesn't mean they like him.
  14. Lovie is a good NFL head coach with flaws.
  15. Lots of people seem convinced that both Trestman and Cutler are gone. Cutler dropped quite a few clues that he's ready to move on and Trestman made it obvious he thinks Cutler should look to revive his career elsewhere. But I am not at all convinced that they are going to get rid of both guys. I think there's a good chance Trestman is gone and Cutler stays.
  16. I wanted Lovie replaced with an offensive mind but the CFL weirdo was obviously never the option, and surrounding himself with a joke of a coaching staff was doomed to failure. There should not have been a single CFL coach on the staff beyond Trestman.
  17. not a cliche but I will always remember his early quotes about Cutler that reinforced his pervy serial killer look: "I can't wait to get my hands on him, and get started with him." and then something about a hotel room
  18. I cannot believe how quickly my opinion of Kromer has changed this year. He was the guy I thought was the most professional.
  19. Given all the high road talk for Cutler, and in honor of the final episode of the serial podcast, is Jay the charming psychopath we were looking for all along?
  20. did you walk out of there thinking you played your last game as a Chicago Bear? Yeah, it definitely crossed my mind.
  21. hahaha, media guys are going to hate how well he answered that "does the security of the contract make this easier" question.
  22. I only take that he knows how to answer without controversial statements.
  23. cutler is in good spirits
