  1. would allow the media to shift attention away from cutler and any other players.
  2. Cutler suffered same drops and didn't get the benefit of defense and special teams putting him in great spot. Cutler gets criticized for having good numbers but not "looking good" while doing it.
  3. Bears defense in a nutshell
  4. Near end of third quarter three huge turnovers and bears have 7 points. 5 dropped passes So that's the team trying harder under the new guy? They dropped cutler balls as well. This game is about dumb lions. Not bears giving up or trying harder without cutler.

  6. 4th rounder is awful a second is decent
  7. He actually made the adjustment from Thanksgiving to not have the corners off man. And the pressure has improved ever since they started giving Fuller safety help. Really strange. Jared Allen is no longer 175 pounds
  8. The same way every team holds every down
  9. The 2nd is too valuable, I think - especially if we use the 1st to get Mariota after the trade. a 3rd and Mett I could see. A 4th and Mett I would be less open to, but would still consider You are insane
  10. Cutler is playing for Detroit
  11. You are being a gigantic meatball about all of this. Didnt earn his contract? What are you talking about? Plenty people around the league thought it was a bad contract and it looks worse now. I don't have a problem with the contract, but Im on record of saying I would've franchised him. He definitely earned the deal with his performance in years past, but the season before getting that contract he missed several games as had previously been a problem. Based on the things Emery laid out Cutler had to do to get an extension, he didn't really do. The tag was never an option unless you wanted to punt this season on purpose. You don't tag your qb. You can barely get away with tagging linemen, let alone a qb. It was never a practical option.
  12. this is like a reverse humble brag
  13. eh, i'm not even sure he's worse than castillo in the role he'd be in once you figure the framing. i didn't want this to happen but i'm not exactly upset over it. it's not like it's giving henry blanco $3.2M in 2008 dollars when you have geovany soto. Dude put up a .548 OPS last year. It feels an awful lot like that. it's 50 games and he had a .239 babip he's a 40 year old catcher with no power left, of course a lot of his batted balls will result in outs.
  14. Chicago Cubs ‏@Cubs · 2m2 minutes ago #Cubs today claimed C Ryan Lavarnway (@RyanLavarnway) off waivers from #Dodgers & OF Shane Peterson (@speters2) off waivers from #Athletics. Chicago Cubs ‏@Cubs · 1m1 minute ago To make room on the 40-man roster, RHP Donn Roach and INF Logan Watkins were designated for assignment.
  15. trading cutler for a 4th round pick would be insane
  16. He could pick it up in a day, easy. doesn't need a full day
  17. I'd take their second too, with at least one other pick. That's basically your Alex Smith return which has been kind of my minimum - but still want a QB I can trust for 2015. I don't want a QB I can trust. Screw that. No point in trying your best not to be an embarrassment when best case scenario is 8 wins by playing it safe. If you are trading Cutler and taking the cap hit you are throwing away 2015. Any QB you can trust is just going to be a worthless placeholder. Don't trade Cutler. But if you do, don't compound the problem by hanging onto silly hopes for 2015.
  18. given that they are one of the few teams where a deal could make sense, the Vandy thing could be enough of a factor to make a difference - meaning Jay would be more amenable to going there and the Titans could see a chance for a marketing boost. Most NFL markets are going to interpret Cutler as their new QB as a bad thing, or maybe the worst good case scenario. Maybe Tennessee would be more open to embracing him.
  19. Huh? Why wouldn't we? In my nightmares they force Emery and Trestman to play the season with the salary cap hit in a lame duck situation.
