    Let me ask you a question.     FLOWERY BRANCH – Seattle defensive end Michael Bennett, who had his career turned around by Falcons head coach Dan Quinn, is seeking a trade to Falcons, according to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Bennett just signed a four-year, $28.5 million contract with the Seahawks last season. Bennett, 28, signed with Seattle during free agent in 2013. He played under Quinn in 2013 and 2014 and developed into one of the league’s top pass rushers with 15.5 sacks.

    aren't they waiting on all of those facilities? yeah, new home clubhouse is phase 2 - which i'm assuming they'll be working on through the summer as it's outside the park. just saying i haven't seen any reference to what's being done with the visitor facilities. I think it is on the same schedule as the home facilities, which is to say, down the road.

    I think Ufford was a little presumptuous to assume the military angle. The fact is there are much more dangerous jobs with much less compensation. I don't see what is so stupid about pointing it out. The media hysteria over concussions has gone a little overboard, but at the same time the water carrying of the NFL by Florio, Schefter, King and others have been gross.

    It's a very smart move. 24yo, degree from a strong academic institution, 650k signing bonus, any salary from endorsements, card shows, and his base salary from one year he's off to a good start in life. More would be smart to do so. Do you get to keep all of the signing bonus if you quit before the contract is over? Aren't rookie contracts 3 year deals? If you retire due to injury issues, I think you can keep it. And a concussion, even if "undiagnosed", is probably not something the NFL wants to be labeling as a non-injury at this point in time.

    Could you explain what you mean by this? Like, as a manager or broadcaster or something? If he is reinstated the Reds would jump all over the opportunity to hire him to one of those BS ambassador positions and he would be all over the television as a hype man.

    A starting lineman at University of Michigan just left the team before his senior year. Not quite the same thing, but he was going to be a starter and might have had a shot at the NFL. I wonder if a small percentage of younger players are starting to get spooked by the long term health concerns Guys have voluntarily left the sport for health reasons for decades now. The expectation of becoming crippled and dying young has always been there. I think the headlines are a little different but I'm not sure how much the underlying story has changed.

    The MLBPA would flip their [expletive]. Plus, today, March 16, 2015, is the furthest the Cubs are going to be from playoff contention for the next 5+ years.
