    Drafttex was the idea that stud college hitters were so much more likely to at bare minimum be good major leaguers for many years that their value dwarfed #onceinageneration pitchers like prior that happen to come along every 5 years and always disappoint. Drafting Bryant was a no brainer under this theory and his emergence is so much bigger and more important than priors, as well as tex.

    prior is definitely ahead of bryant on a cubs list Nope Nopenopenopenope Nope Drafttex was over prior and Bryant is over tex wasn't prior considered a top 3 pitching prospect ever, with some people having him as the best ever? and it kind of feels like bryant's k concerns get overlooked a little bit too much, especially when comparing him with past elite prospects. Only by people who don't understand huge value of college hitting studs over pitchers.

    They can't get him up to Chicago tonight to play tomorrow? well, he was just playing baseball in new orleans as of 8pm central, so i assume the absolute earliest flight he could've caught was 10pm, and i doubt that there are flights from new orleans to chicago at that hour. my not-so-exhaustive research suggests that the earliest he could arrive in chicago (flying commercial obviously) is 12:40pm, leaving new orleans at 10:08am.     Javy was up within a matter of a few weeks after moving to 2B last year, IIRC... He played 2B 7/14 and was with the Cubs 8/5. He got 16 games at 2B.

    Since he has 2 errors already that's not really true. Since he will be called up very soon regardless that is true.
