  2. Tampa imploding. Blackhawks should be picking top 20 in their second pick. They also have 3 2nd rounders.
  3. Hang on for 12 more minutes, florida
  4. I’ve never thought they were serious about staying in Chicago.
  5. Overall don’t have any problems with this draft. The third round tackle may have been a bit of a reach, but seems like a guy who can be a stud if he makes it, so that’s fine. I assume they’ll have a bunch of udfa. Hopefully the rest of the roster is good enough that none of them make it
  6. Did they do that? I thought they just took him with the fourth that they already owned.
  7. Brandon Hagel trying to prevent the Blackhawks from getting a top 20 pick, buries a short handed goal. He’s good at hockey.
  8. The late rounds of this draft are widely considered to be trash. Don’t know why they would try and move back in.
  9. Seems like a ballsy pick to take a guy who nobody expects to play as a rookie in the third. But they probably don’t want to give Braxton jones a second contract and you can never have enough OL.
  10. 87. Kiran Amegadjie, OT, Yale (6-5, 323) Amegadjie is a raw prospect who needs technical and strength work before he sees live NFL reps, but his physical ingredients and competitive drive are the foundational elements that pro coaches want to develop. He projects as a backup left tackle as a rookie who has all the tools to gradually develop into an NFL starter.
  11. It’s not just taking the wrong guy. They’ve taken the wrong guy and had the wrong coaches and the wrong teammates. Williams at least has a supporting cast of players. The coaching situation is questionable.
  12. How do you make this post and not include Nico Hoerner?
  13. The rookie qb contract does make it relatively easy to fit him in for a 2 year extension, but by the time Caleb’s next deal kicks in, only one of these three guys will fit in the cap, hopefully Odunze.
  14. Yeah, I think I agree. I like the way Poles played this out. I’d rather have him for one year than whatever back up lineback they’d draft there.
  15. Since Keenan Allen was essentially an insurance policy against the top receivers being gone when the bears picked at 9, would you trade him back for that 4th if you could? He’s a nice guy to have, but he’s now pretty much guaranteed to be here for one year, since they have Moore and Odunze. You should be able to back fill the wr depth behind those two guys for the next 3 years without needing to pay too dollar for Keenan Allen’s retirement tour.
  16. You’re a weirdo
  17. To elaborate, if they get him they have their clear cut 1 and 2 centers for the foreseeable future. All their other centers would slot behind these guys and/or move to wing. odds are though they will not get him and the next batch of guys are mostly defenseman. The hawks have D depth but could absolutely use impact guys that would immediately go to head of the class. Vlasic is a top pairing guy, Korchinski might be a second pairing guy. All their other depth is either 2nd or 3rd pairing guys. If they wound up with the top Dman in this draft and found a top pairing player, they could be set up really nicely for when Jones is garbage and still making bank.
  18. Seems like a good compromise between the potential short term lower hit options and the 8 year higher hit options. Still some flexibility down the road. But thinking way into the future he’ll be in line to take Jones’s cap hit when that comes off the books.
  19. The biggest problem with Murphy at 9 is that it’s so obviously dictated by team need/scheme, and not a best player available selection. if Eberflus was not the head coach, and this wasn’t a Tampa 2 team, that selection would not even be considered. Taking him at 9 is a waste of draft capital.
  20. Murphy seems to be a consensus better prospect than newton, but murphy doesn’t seem like a guy that should go 9. Production in college, especially on the line, is a nebulous concept. This isn’t baseball. You can’t quantify ability.
  21. Carolina’s maybe
  22. Reminds me of the jets proposed west side stadium over the rail yards that never stood a chance to happen
