  1. So they traded again in 3rd by sending away a 2025 3rd, which everybody assumes will be a higher pick. Presumably Chicago thinks it’ll be a lower pick than everybody else does.
  2. I didn’t pay attention to the details at the time but they went from having 3 2nd round picks to none with the trade ups. I assume they will keep looking to trade their quantity for quality. They still don’t have any realistic first line partners for Bedard. They are absolutely loaded with middle six guys, the defense should be relatively settled as well. but they need more offensive firepower.
  3. Not unhappy with another trade up into first, but at this point it’s clear they have more draft picks than they can realistically use, and other teams know it.
  4. That trade up with islanders was pointless so far. This isn’t a guy to reach for.
  5. The final athletic mock has Blackhawks taking Levshunov over Demidov, but Demidov falling to Calgary at 9. Then at 18(with Eiserman going one pick later): 18. Chicago Blackhawks: Jett Luchanko, C, Guelph (OHL) It feels almost likely at this point that Luchanko is going in the top 20. The league loves his two-way game, his skating and his compete. He fits the profile of the type of forward Chicago has targeted and has that profile in spades. I think Jiricek or either of the Norwegian players fit here too if they make it to 18.
  6. Draft the dman and trade for marner or sign a top free agent
  7. You don’t have to spin to find the negatives in the roster construction of this team.
  8. Niiiiiittoliiiiiii
  9. edit- The NTC was waived and what was reported as a 2025 2nd is now listed as a 2027 2nd. So, they still have 12 picks in the first two rounds of the next three drafts. 5 firsts and 7 seconds. And they are now loading up on extra picks for 2027. ———— So a 2nd round pick in 2025 would leave them with: 2024 - Two 1s, Two 2s, Two 3s 2025 - Two 1s, Three 2s, One 3 2026 - One 1, Three 2s, One 3. Thats 13 picks in the top two rounds for next three years. That’s too many picks. You have to package some of them and get a difference maker. They’ve already made one somewhat frivolous deal, dealing quantity for marginal quality improvement. You’re going to get stuck not maximizing the value of draft picks eventually if you keep that plethora.
  10. I don’t mind using cap space to get another 2nd round pick. But at some point they have to acquire a good player. There is no way they will build a championship team with just draft picks
  11. But to Jed’s credit he really hasn’t tried yet…
  12. I don’t know this Kyle Teel guy but the cubs aren’t going to win until they move past this mediocre core of players, so I’d be fine trading away Hoerner. He’s a 5th wheel player at best and eminently replaceable.
  13. He got jiggy with it
  14. Corey Perry lost again
  15. This doesn’t register as a real issue to me. It’s a complaint I’ve heard for a couple decades now. What’s more of an issue is flawed roster building. Mediocre offensive players make enough outs for everybody to focus on their niche pet peeve.
  16. SNY really lingers on the W flag raise and go cubs go song before going to commercial
  17. If more people cared about the panthers or the nhl in general the potential 3-0 series lead turning into a 3-4 loss would be the biggest story out there. as it is, it’s very funny
  18. Devils got their goaltender so we can forget about fooling them into taking Mrázek.
